Today, August 7, 2026, marks 19 years since JoshiesWorld was founded on August 7, 2007.
It is hard to believe that JoshiesWorld is now only one year away from reaching two decades.
As I reflect on the past 19 years, the first thing I want to say is thank you. I am truly grateful to every one of you who has supported JoshiesWorld over the years. Your support has helped JoshiesWorld continue to exist, grow, and become what it is today.
Without that support, there is always the possibility that JoshiesWorld could have disappeared after only a year or two. Instead, here we are 19 years later and still going.
Personally, I, Joshua “Joshie” Sullivan, cannot thank all of you enough. Your support continues to motivate me to do what I love: blogging, journalism, reviewing products, businesses, restaurants, entertainment, and whatever else I can get my hands on.
When I review something, my goal is to give people useful information that may help them decide whether to buy it or not, try it or not, watch it or not, visit it or not, or simply decide whether something is right for them.
Journalism is important to me for another reason. People deserve access to information about what is happening around them and across the world. Journalism can inform the public, hold people or organizations accountable when necessary, and hopefully help give a voice to people who may otherwise struggle to be heard.
That is one of the reasons I got into journalism in the first place.
More than two decades ago, I tried to apply for journalism opportunities with local newspapers, including the Williamson Daily News and Appalachian News-Express. I was told they did not hire freelance journalists.
So I eventually thought to myself: if I cannot find a platform willing to give me the opportunity, why not build my own?
And that is what I did.
JoshiesWorld was born.
That decision started this long journey through blogging, journalism, reviewing, photography, content creation, and much more.
Over the past few days, I have spent a lot of time thinking about how close JoshiesWorld is to reaching 20 years. I remember sitting up late at night nearly two decades ago trying to figure out what name I wanted to use.
Whatever name I chose, I wanted to stick with it.
I did not want to create a name, use it for a year or two, abandon it, create another name, and repeat the process. I wanted something that could grow with me and something I could continue using for as long as I wanted to create content.
People already knew me by my nickname, Joshie, which I had used since high school.
Then came the question: what could I combine with Joshie?
ThatJoshie? Eh, no.
IAmJoshie? No. That sounded like I was telling someone else that they were Joshie.
OfficialJoshie? Definitely not. Way too serious.
Then I thought about what I wanted to do. I wanted to create articles, reviews, opinions, photos, videos, and other kinds of content and share them with people.
Then the word “world” came to mind. Delivering information/content to people around the world.
And just like that, JoshiesWorld was born.
Nearly two decades later, I am still using that name, just as I promised myself I would.
And I have no plans to stop.
What started as a messy blog and a pretty bland forum has grown into something much larger.
Today, JoshiesWorld is an independent news and media brand delivering news, reviews, opinions, and real-world experiences under the slogan:
“News. Reviews. Opinions. Experiences. By JoshiesWorld.”
JoshiesWorld combines journalism, editorial insight, reviews, photography, videos, and creator-driven storytelling to help people discover things, learn about what is happening, evaluate products and experiences, and make informed decisions.
JoshiesWorld.com remains the central home for my published work, including in-depth articles and experience-based reviews. From there, that content reaches people through social media and other community platforms.
Through everything JoshiesWorld does, independence and transparency continue to matter to me.
My goal is to inform the audience, not to please advertisers, sponsors, companies, or anyone else. Reviews and editorial coverage should reflect the actual experience and my own independent judgment.
JoshiesWorld has certainly changed over these 19 years, and it will continue changing.
I am always looking for new ways to improve and expand JoshiesWorld. I have several goals that I hope to accomplish in the years ahead. There may not be hundreds of them, but some of those goals are very big, and I am doing everything I can to eventually reach them.
One of those goals is finding more ways to give something back to all of you who have supported JoshiesWorld over the years.
So keep an eye out for that.
And when I talk about supporting JoshiesWorld, I do not mean only financially.
Support can be as simple as sharing a JoshiesWorld article or review, sharing one of my social media posts, telling someone about JoshiesWorld, commenting on something I publish, following JoshiesWorld, or simply continuing to read and watch my work.
Even something that may seem small can make a difference.
JoshiesWorld may have been created by me, but all of you have played a part in helping it grow.
Because of your support, I am able to continue building this platform while doing something I have been passionate about for 19 years.
I know I have said “thank you” many times throughout this statement, and I will probably say it many more times in the future. Even if I said it a billion times, I still do not think it would fully express how grateful I am.
So, as JoshiesWorld officially reaches 19 years, from the bottom of my heart:
Thank you to every one of you who has supported JoshiesWorld over the years, whether you have been here since the beginning or discovered JoshiesWorld recently. And thank you to everyone who will continue supporting this journey into the future.
Now it is onward to 20 years — two full decades of JoshiesWorld — on August 7, 2027.
JoshiesWorld is still here.
JoshiesWorld is still growing.
And JoshiesWorld is not finished yet.
