I know it is about time that I finally decided to write a new snippets article after a very long time, and I apologize. This year has been hectic for me, including a thing that is a very good thing that happened in my life before that I had a bit of time for articles writing or writing some reviews. I want to congratulate Troy Kotsur for winning the Oscar for Best Supporting actor and congratulate everyone involved in a movie named CODA for winning the Oscars for best picture and best adapted screenplay on March 27th! That wasn’t all; Troy Kotsur and CODA have won several awards before winning any awards from the Oscars. They won several SAG awards, such as outstanding performance by an actor in a supporting role in a motion picture (for Troy Kotsur), the best theatrical motion picture. They also won some BAFTA (Almost like Oscars but in British) and many more awards. Troy Kotsur became the second Deaf person to own an Oscar, he is the first Deaf male to win an oscar but the second to win the oscar, and the first Deaf person to win the oscar was none other than Marlee Matlin (along with the first Deaf female to win the Oscar). Marlee Matlin won the Oscar for her movie Children of a Lesser God back in 1987, so the gap for another Deaf actor or actress to win another one is enormous as it has been 35 years, so it was a way overdue, in my opinion. Someone has mailed me a few videos of Kappa Gamma fraternity, some personal and some public that has a few well-known Deaf people in it such as Nyle DiMarco. I have a video of two videos that I have put together; they said that it’s from their spring 2011 march and also their final 2011 march with Nyle DiMarco participating in the march as one of the members. The reason I am posting this video is that there is a fiasco with the Gallaudet University and their fraternity Kappa Gamma. Many people have put much of evidence, stories, complaints, and whatnot out there on the internet, so I felt that this video should also be put in there with them so that people can be aware of this. So those people who are outsiders can get an idea of what and how Kappa Gamma looks like at Gallaudet University. Not only that, we all know that Christmas is coming faster than we feel or think and this means that we have been busy or that we are about to get busier than ever especially trying to shop for some of the things for our family and friends!
