I have unfortunate news for everyone in Belfry, KY; Williamson, WV; and the surrounding area: we didn’t want to expect it, but we did. One of the stores we liked going to for many years is closing because it always had good deals on the products it sold. The store I am talking about is Save-A-Lot in South Williamson, KY. More than three employees at Save-A-Lot, whom I will not name, shared with us that the store is on its way to closing and that it would be lucky to make it to September. The employees there said that Save-A-Lot no longer restocks and will continue to sell whatever it has left until it closes. A few employees at Save-A-Lot have said they are already looking for a new job or have found one ahead of time before Save-A-Lot closes. While it’s well known that competitors such as Walmart and the rebuilt Food City hurt Save-A-Lot badly, what put the nail in its coffin was the refusal to fix the bridge you would drive across to get to Save-A-Lot. That bridge was destroyed a few years ago, and the property owner refused to allow anyone to repair it, which hit Save-A-Lot hard in the long run and now results in its closure. This is an old video I uploaded to JoshiesWorld’s YouTube channel about a decade ago of the infamous Dingess Tunnel, which I visited and recorded. On February 15th, 2025, just a day after Valentine’s Day, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and West Virginia were devastated by floods that almost broke the record for the great floods in 1977 for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and West Virginia. The Commonwealth of Kentucky and West Virginia weren’t the only two states devastated by the floods on February 15th, 2025. Tennessee was hit, too, but not as badly as the Commonwealth of Kentucky and West Virginia. On February 15th, 2025, two counties devastated by the flooding were Pike County, Kentucky, and Mingo County, West Virginia. These two counties are located in eastern Kentucky (the largest county in Kentucky) and southwestern West Virginia. These two neighboring counties are on the border between Kentucky and West Virginia. I know it is about time that I finally decided to write a new snippets article after a very long time, and I apologize. This year has been hectic for me, including a thing that is a very good thing that happened in my life before that I had a bit of time for articles writing or writing some reviews.
