As for Hanukkah, I am somewhat late, as it is celebrated from December 14 to 22. But I still want to recognize that, as other holidays besides Christmas and New Year are important as well. Some know what these holidays are, where they come from, and how they are celebrated. The celebration of Christmas started in Rome around 336, but it was not a major Christian festival until the 19th century, which began on January 1 in 1801 and ended on December 31 in 1900. The original reason for Christmas was to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birthday on December 25, a tradition established by Pope Julius I, combining religious observances with influences from winter solstice festivals such as Yule and Saturnalia. As for Hanukkah, it is a holiday for the Jewish people, the word Hanukkah means dedication due to purifying the Temple after the Jewish resistance against the Greek occuptation by Seleucid Empire after they outlawed the Jewish practices and defiled their Temple in 168 B.C.E. I hope that every one of you has a great Christmas; spending time with your family and friends is something that gets rarer as we get older, so all of you who are at a young age, please take the time to spend with your family. Have a great feast; it’s a great excuse for pigging out, especially if you are on a diet! I am somewhat restricted when it comes to diet. Still, on holiday days, I put my diet striction aside and pig out because how can it not be any better than having a big feast with your family at your family’s dinner table or in your living room while laughing! I hope that all of you enjoy your Christmas this year; I know that it is not the usual Christmas that many of us accustomed to as we are in a horrible pandemic that prevents many of us from being able to be with other family members or friends, especially on this special holiday day. However, we should keep our distance from others because we do not want to be the ones that expose them to this horrible virus and risk them not seeing them again next Christmas. But the good thing is that there is a technology that allows us to celebrate with our family members or friends, which is virtually such as video chat and or making a telephone call to them. Yes, it is not good as not being there to celebrate with them in person, but we must keep them all ourselves safe to spend time together again next Christmas when this pandemic is hopefully over. Hey guys and women! I would like to wish every one of you Merry Christmas and I hope that all of you have a great Christmas today. unwrap the presents, exchanging communication, sharing stories and eating at dinner table on Christmas day with your family is the most precious thing. I used to have that, I wish I could have that again but unfortunately I cannot as the major of the family that I was close to have passed away so this leaves me and my mother. That is what it is, so if you still have a circle of family then be with them and spend as much as you can when you have them because I unexpectedly lost them to way soon. However, mine and my mother’s Christmas is great, we had few of our presents and will be having Christmas dinner either tonight or in late evening. I hope that all of you have fun with the presents that you have from your family, enjoy the time with your family or friends and eat some delicious foods!
