Hello all! I know I haven’t written a snippets article in a great while, I apologize for that and the COVID-19 pretty much have taken over the news so that was more important to make sure that everyone keeps focusing on getting the information on coronavirus aka COVID-19. I hope that every one of you is doing well, I am doing well myself and luckily we have not been exposed to COVID-19 yet (knocks on the wood). A former principal of Belfry High School, especially during my time as a student, as well before and after is running for a 93rd district seat in the commonwealth of Kentucky’s house. Maybe by now that many of you may guess who I am referring to, but if you haven’t figured out then I will go ahead and say who is running for the seat in the house of Ky 93rd district which is for both Pike and Martin counties – Rod Varney! He has filed not too long ago with the commonwealth of Kentucky to say that he is running for the house of Kentucky to be a representative for Pike County and Martin County as a Democrat. The current representative is Chris Harris, as we know that Chris Harris has decided to not seek another term because he has decided to run for a higher position which is a seat in the supreme court of Kentucky so that means the seat is up for a grab. Rod Varney has decided to run for that seat as a Democrat, he will be running against a 2-time loser Republican candidate for 93rd District seat in the commonwealth of Kentucky and that would be Norma Kirk-McCormick because she has lost badly twice (2 terms) in a row against an incumbent Democrat…
So, the Thanksgiving passed us by, Christmas passed us by as well and now the New Year just passed us by. A lot of holidays in a very short period of time, not only that my mother’s birthday is just a few days after Christmas so it means a lot more presents for her and anyone who has a birthday close to Christmas I bet that they like that they were born so close to the Christmas! I was born in winter but not too soon after Christmas though, as my birthday is three months apart from Christmas so I was pretty much born in late winter as my birthday is in March and that isn’t all because I didn’t mention Valentine’s day! Companies thrive due to that because we always buy their products for somebody and then for ourselves in some cases. I hope that all of you had a great holidays, I know I had a good holidays myself although the age of my bones are getting the best of me every day and while I did had a good holidays I am still a bit disappointed over the fact that we didn’t see a lot of white winters which I mean snow. Of course, this might be a bit different for some of you especially that I don’t write a lot of articles to celebrate something but this is my mom and it’s her birthday so of course, I am going to wish my mother nothing but very happy birthday! I am not going to mention the age because this is public and besides I don’t think it’s anyone’s business. I always like writing snippets article because it allows me to write several topics or subjects in one article instead of one by one and in my opinion, I think that they also give the readers plenty of things to read! How are you all?! Not only that, we all know that Christmas is coming faster than we feel or think and this means that we have been busy or that we are about to get busier than ever especially trying to shop for some of the things for our family and friends! Even I am already thinking about the things or what to do for Christmas I am forgetting that there is Halloween coming up in just a matter of few days and then there is thanksgiving on the way! This is just a very small post for you all to read because this is more on a personal level than I normally write. For many years, I have been looking for pictures of myself when I was young, especially my accomplishments and whatnot. I do know that I was the first student to demonstrate a new computer with disc compact (CD) for Pike County schools in Kentucky; that is the newspaper that I am still in search of, but I have found an old VHS which I am working on figuring out how to transfer the VHS digitally. If so, I will show it around here or on social media. While we were going through old things such as pictures, VHS tapes, and whatnot, I finally found some newspapers with me in them. It was the talk of Pike County, Ky, because I was a student who happened to be Deaf student who was paving the way to get new computers for the students at my school when I was just five years old. During my time in grade school, I was five years old or around that age; when anyone thinks of someone who is a computer whiz, I would be it, and being Deaf is what made me so, which is something I am very thankful for.…
