10-9-2020 Snippets

Hello everyone, how are all of you doing?! I hope that all of you are doing good. I think it is time for another snippets article here on JoshiesWorld. I know it is overdue as the last snippets article was published about a month ago. I have been so busy trying to publish as many reviews as I can because I need to have the reviews going to give the companies the examples of my reviews before they ship their products to me for an honest review on their product. If their products are bad, I will say they are bad and point out what is bad about their products. That goes the same way if their products are good. Nonetheless, I am glad to say that I have a decent number of reviews published to get the ball rolling. Of course, I cannot publish many reviews because I cannot afford every new product that they have coming out. I am hoping that as many as reviews for anything that I have my hands on can get it going so that I can get more things to review for all of you to read so you can make a better decision whether to buy a particular product or not and as well others so you can know if it would worth your money or not. I am looking forward to having somehow a relation with companies that will ship their products, which they often do before they are even released for everyone to buy because reviews are what determine if they worth their money or not to buy the products on the same day or the next day that they released their product(s)!

Alright, I better start writing for each of the topics that I have written on my topics list that I save online where I can add new topics whenever I think of them and use them in my snippets article or sometimes for an alone article. If you prefer not to read all of the topics that I have here, you can always click/press the “Show Topics List” below, and that will show you the topics list that I will be writing for this snippets article. As always, if you have an idea for a topic that you would like to hear my thought on or have something that you think everyone should know about, please click here to contact me. Thank you so much!

Exploiters of the Deaf community with American Sign Language continues

There are a few people that have been exploiting the Deaf people’s language, which is American Sign Language, with no respect. A perfect example of a Deaf Community exploiter is Libbey, known as TheDailySmile on YouTube, who have been at it for close or over a decade. There were many of Deaf people who have been continuously calling Libbey out about that, but she persisted and ignored by not willing to listen to what the Deaf community said because she would often either have them blocked when she read their comments or have some of her hearing fans to go after the Deaf people who tried to have a dialogue with Libbey. Libbey made an apology video last week, but the problem is that she has apologized before. This apology is worthless because she will continue exploiting just as she has been for many years while making a few moot apologies in the past. Some Deaf people have given her several chances to act upon her past apologizes, some will not give her the only one and last chance, but I will not give her any opportunity because I know better. Why is that? Like I have told another blogger known as Ridor9th, aka Ricky Taylor, hearing people look at us Deaf people as opportunities for them to exploit to make a profit just like TheDailySmile, aka Libbey have been doing for many years.

Only very few do the right thing and listened to us, such as Captain Valor, a few years ago, when we called him out for exploiting the Deaf community’s language for profit or fame. Captain Valor did the right thing by immediately apologizing, doing some unpacking, and learning to give it up out of respect to the Deaf community, which is the right thing to do. Some people refused to do so; TheDailySmile, aka Libbey, is one of them as she has been at it for years, which I have mentioned. I believe that she will continue doing so, but now that her reputation will be known as a Deaf Community exploiter. It is shameful, selfish of her to exploit for many years while refusing to give the Deaf people a listen and dialogue. Now, as for anyone else out who is doing the same, drop it and do the right thing as Captain Valor did. American Sign Language is a recognized language that is widely used and a language that the deaf community use to communicate. If not, then expect many callouts from the Deaf community and be labeled as Deaf Community exploiter, which is a reputation that we will be more than glad to make sure that they know it. If you have been following the hearing people like TheDailySmile or others that are possibly translating songs in American Sign Language for profit or fame, please do the right thing by unsubscribing or unfollowing them to make sure that they no longer can continue to have fame or profit.

P.S. I see some comments saying that they are teaching a language in a fun way or making sense for Libbey to monetize what they are teaching. No, and no for one straightforward reason – she is NOT certified to teach American Sign Language.

Being Pro-Life while dehumanizing others

I have a question for anyone who is pro-life. How can you be pro-life if you are dehumanizing others? How can you think it is acceptable for some people, including our president of the United States, to mock disabled people? Calling soldiers losers and suckers? Trying so hard to take social security, food stamps, WIC, Medicare/Medicaid, and others away from the people who need them to survive? If you are going to be pro-life, then that would mean that you need to make sure that our government expands social security, Medicare, WIC, Food Stamps, and others to ensure their survival because that helps them live even with little things. After all, even with them, it is still bare for them. In English, “Pro-Life” is that you are a pro of making sure that everyone gets to live; taking these social programs away from them will take that chance away of their survival because they need some assistance to keep them healthy, to be able to afford to rent to have a roof to live under, foods to have on their table for them to eat and WIC to make sure that their children to get nourishment. So, yes, in a way, if you are genuinely a Republican and follow that ideology, then you are not close to being a pro-life because the Republicans Party is known for making sure that it is their goal to dismantle every one of these social programs that help the people to have a chance in life for their future. Yes, I am aware of what you think Pro-Life means as you believe that you are against abortion. Still, in English, that does not define that and if you want to have a word, then say that you are anti-abortion but don’t go around saying pro-life when you are also against these social programs that give the poverty people a chance in life!

Changed my review format

If you noticed that my review format has changed, you are right because I have decided to change my review format to be cleaner. I feel that by changing my review format, instead of writing an entire interview in the review box does not look right, so that gave me an idea that I will only use that for the bottom line with few words as possible while in the article itself will be my thought or my opinion on whatever that I review. If you look at my Ford v Ferrari review, you will see my old review format and then look at my GoPro Hero 9 review, and then you will see my new review format so you can see that it is a better way instead of jamming everything into that little box. Search engines seem to agree that ever since I have changed my review format, I increase my ranking. I have decided that the new review format will be my review format, but I am always improving anything.

Cold temperature arrived early

In eastern Kentucky, where I reside, it seems that the cold or at least chill temperature have arrived a bit earlier than usual because usually, it would come about in mid-October to mid-November, but it arrived in late September. Last month it was in around 80s to 90s during the day and 70-80 during the night, but it quickly changed over a week ago to 65-75 during the day while 45-55 during the night. I am excited about that, and because of that, I have a good feeling that this winter will be colder than it was last year or the year before last year!

Have your temperature drops yet? I know we are now in the fall season, but over here, the drop in temperature is drastic, so I have a feeling that because of that, it is going to be even colder than last year because last year, we would not have a chill temperature until mid-November in the range of 70-80 during the day while 50-60 during the night, so that’s a change in comparison.

Voter registration has hit a deadline, now vote!

Most state’s voter registration has hit a deadline, as there was a deadline set for voter registration every election, which is usually set a month before the election. There might still be some time leftover in other states, but now most states have hit their deadline to register to vote. Now that the voter registration is out of the way, I hope that every one of you had a chance to register before it hit the deadline because registering to vote is vital since registering to vote for however outcome we want by voting. In that case, it is time to vote! I am not telling you which one to vote for because this is something you will have to do on your own by researching each candidate. I can either as my own or as JoshiesWorld can endorse anyone, but it is entirely up to everyone to vote for whoever they want for these offices that they are running for. However, I will tell you that to vote so importantly as a citizen regardless of our backgrounds because whoever you are voting for is a possibility of the outcome. So, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to vote so, please go and do your duty by voting either through in-person or absentee ballot. As for absentee ballot and because of the COVID-19 pandemic that we are in, we can have a mail-in vote, which is essentially an absentee ballot but with less restriction, because to request an absentee ballot, you would have to be disabled, senior citizen, oversea or some of other reasons that has something to do with not having the transportation means. Now with the COVID-19 pandemic, anyone can get a mail-in ballot and absentee ballot to protect themselves from being exposed to COVID-19 by doing so in-person voting.

There are very few states, especially heavily republicans-controlled still only restrict absentee ballots the same excluding COVID-19 reason while most now include COVID-19 related reason, so be sure to check your state about that. Now, just as voter registration deadline, there is a deadline for requesting an absentee ballot and mail-in voter, too, which is if my math is right, it is about a good half month remaining until we are closer to the deadline to request one. So, if you do not want to be exposed to COVID-19, then please request an absentee ballot which most states allow you to ask for one online either through their website or you can do so by going to this URL address: vote.org/absentee-ballot/ and or head over to vote.org for more information relating to voting.

GO AND VOTE! Please keep this in mind that if you are voting in person, then do not request an absentee ballot or mail-in vote because double voting is against the law as a felony in which you can be fined around $10,000 or be imprisoned up to five years or both.

Read more about double voting punishments here: https://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/double-voting.aspx

Deaf Smith County, Texas

I wonder if you are aware that there is a county in Texas named Deaf Smith County? I was taken back when I saw an article in the news talking about COVID-19 cases increasing in Deaf Smith County in Texas, so I decided to search Deaf Smith County in Texas. Deaf Smith County is in the seat county of Hereford in Texas, with an 18,546 population. Deaf Smith County in Texas was created in 1876 and organized in 1890. Deaf Smith County in Texas has 1,498 miles of area. Deaf Smith County in Texas was named after Deaf Smith, who was an American frontiersman in the Texas Revolution and the Army of the Republic of Texas. He fought in the Grass Fight and the Battle of San Jacinto. After the war, he led a company of Texas Rangers. He was born on April 19, 1787, and died on November 30, 1837.

Something new for me to know, I am sure that it is well-known, but for me, I did not know until I saw an article about different counties that have increasing COVID-19 cases in the state of Texas.

First of 2020 United States Presidential Debates

What are my reaction and my thought on the first 2020 United States presidential debates, you ask? Wow, just wow. I think that the moderator Chris Wallace of that first presidential debate has earned a tiny ounce of my respect because we know that many journalists over at Fox News are overly biased as they heavily support Republicans and Republican president Donald Trump. Fox News is always known for a news company that spews countless misleading and false information that gives Fox News zero credibility because they do not report much of anything factual. Many reporters, anchors, and journalists from Fox News are overwhelmingly biased that anyone can see it as clear as day can be. Chris Wallace is one Fox News reporter and journalist who happens to be a moderator for the first 2020 United States Presidential Debates. It was neutral as a moderator, which surprised many of us, I am sure. I am sure that many of his co-workers and his boss at Fox News are probably angry at Chris Wallace for being neutral when moderated by the first United States presidential debates. We do not need a biased moderator; we do not need anyone who is affiliated with either party that each presidential candidate runs on – we cannot have that. The moderator has to be neutral at most to be fair. If not, we know that it is pretty much a career suicide for anyone biased to moderate any United States presidential debates.

Now, as for both presidential candidates, we know that one of them is currently the United States president who is Donald Trump in this case and is running against a former Vice President Joe Biden to continue as a president for the second term, which is the final term for the presidency in the United States per United States Constitution. I see that some people tell me that Chris Wallace seems to be more supportive of Joe Biden by trying to quiet down Donald Trump don’t realize that Chris Wallace was not trying to be supportive of any presidential candidates by trying to be neutral as a moderator and that Donald Trump did interrupt many times when it was Joe Biden’s turn to speak to answer any questions that the moderator Chris Wallace has. Yes, Joe Biden did interrupt a few times but a very few times compared to the overwhelming counts of times Donald Trump interrupts. Each presidential candidate is supposed to answer any questions that a moderator or moderator team has. Each presidential candidates are to be quiet at every turn while each one answers the questions. Joe Biden did most of that time while Donald Trump interrupts almost every time. Joe Biden only interrupts a few times, so I can understand the frustration that Joe Biden or Chris Wallace had as they deal with Donald Trump’s tantrums at that debate.

I am happy with most of Joe Biden’s answers. I think that out of all, Joe Biden stood dignified and did talk to the Americans by talking directly at the camera, which was a smart move on his part because that does give us undecided voters the feel of knowing that with Joe Biden we would be at peace while at the same time having a president who does not throw insults at his citizens like Donald Trump often do. I agree with many of the professors that the more Donald Trump displays that kind of behavior, allowing Donald Trump to speak, to interrupts and let him do what he does while Joe Biden does what he knows how to do, which is to listen while showing dignified will boost Joe Biden’s chance of winning the 2020 United States presidential election. During the first 2020 United States presidential debate, I was annoyed with non-stop interruptions by United States President Donald Trump. I was also disgusted how our own United States president would not condemn white supremacist by telling the proud boys to stand back and stand by which that clearly tell us one thing that he is indeed a racist that no one including his supporters cannot deny because at that debate it gave every one of us the evidence that he is a racist.

Proud Boys is one of most hate and violence groups listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), one of the most important organizations here in the United States that tracks every group and list groups when they are warranted hate or violence group. Any time Southern Poverty Law Center lists a group on their list, it is something that the government and people take very seriously when they create policy or law. Proud Boys is known as a far-right, neo-fascist, and male-only organization. They are up there with the white supremacist group KKK.

Nonetheless, the bottom line of the first 2020 United States presidential debate the other night was a bothersome thing to watch. The people responsible for hosting the 2020 United States presidential debate and vice presidential debate are talking about making some change that would allow a moderator or someone to mute their microphone when they refuse to adhere to the rules. I have to say that I think it is a much needed; I am aware that they are thinking of doing that just because of United States President Donald Trump’s behavior, but I think it is a great idea for both sides so that way the Americans can understand what each of their goals as a president is. Constant interruptions often confuse us, and we cannot get a clear picture of what the current United States president want to do for another term if he wins which; this is why many of people quickly favored Joe Biden because Joe Biden was able to deliver some pictures while all Donald Trump delivered was non-stop interruptions.

Pike County, Ky cancels Trick or Treat

Pike County in Kentucky which is my county in my state have decided to cancel their traditional Halloween’s event Trick or Treat where everyone would go door-to-door knocking to ask for some candy or go to the town’s event for Halloween such as the one mall in South Williamson, Ky where the children would attend for some Halloween activities. Pike Court Fiscal Court has decided to cancel all of the Halloween activities that are going on in Pike County, Ky, but they have also given an alternative only if any organization in Pike County, Ky, is willing to do so by holding a drive-through trick-or-treats. In a few days, the Pike Court Fiscal Court will be giving guidance to organizations on how to do trick-or-treats drive-through so that hopefully, to bring the joy to the children in Pike County, Ky for Halloween amid a pandemic.

https://www.wsaz.com/2020/10/07/trick-or-treat-canceled-in-pike-county-ky/

I am sure that there will be some people in Pike County, Ky will not like this decision, but for me, I honestly think that it is better to be safe than to be sorry because we do not want any children to be exposed to COVID-19 especially that Pike County, Ky is on the increase of COVID-19 cases. Also, as we know that the senior citizens and the people with pre-existing conditions are at high risk if they are exposed to COVID-19, so we do not want to expose them to COVID-19 if we carry them without us knowing because some of us could be carrying COVID-19 without showing any symptoms.

My football teams are winning!

Green Bay Packers are 4-0!

My favorite NFL team Green Bay Packers, have just won their 4th game against the Falcons, which was somewhat expected, but it was more unexpected that Green Bay Packers would win the previous game against New Orleans Saints because the New Orleans Saints also have one of top 10 quarterbacks Drew Brees. In the first game, Green Bay Packers won against Minnesota Vikings 43-34, second game Green Bay Packers beat Detroit Lions 42-21, third game Green Bay Packers defeat New Orleans Saints 37-30, and 4th game Green Bay Packers beat Atlanta Falcons 30-16. I had a feeling that Green Bay Packers would take on the Vikings, Lions, and Falcons, but the Saints had me a bit nervous, but I was relieved that they have beat them. The next game has me even more nervous because Green Bay Packers will play against a team that signed a new yet legendary quarterback this year – Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady! Green Bay Packers has been so bad with their draft and signings this year as they didn’t add a desperate needed new wide receiver to their rooster while letting go a couple of veteran wide receivers that played with the Packers for a long time so their receiving corps is not in great shape this year but somehow they are 4-0. Right now, Packers future hall-of-fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is pretty much carrying the Packers on his back with a couple of help of veteran running backs, one Packers veteran WR and their defense. Now that they are playing against Tampa Bay, the next game they will put everything in their efforts to do so and that one Packers veteran WR I was talking about is now questionable to play, so that is something to worry about!

Nonetheless, I am looking forward to Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game on 10/18 at 4:25 PM. If Green Bay Packers plows through Tampa Bay Buccaneers like they did the other 4 teams, I feel good for the rest of the other teams they will be playing against, including the San Francisco 49ers 11/5.

Notre Dame Irish Fighting is winning too!

Notre Dame is my favorite college football (NCAAF) team and all of my other college sports. I have been rooting for Notre Dame ever since I was a little boy, about the same time I root for Green Bay Packers after discovering that Green Bay Packers have a history with Notre Dame, especially during the era when Green Bay Packers was founded. Notre Dame also has zero losses and two wins so far. They won against Duke 27-13 and won against South Florida 52-0. They are playing against Florida State in a couple of days (10/10), then they will play against one of two teams in my Commonwealth of Kentucky, Louisville, on 10/17. They have two teams after these games that they will be playing against such as Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech, but both dates are TBD (to be declared) which I suspect that the reason that they don’t have the dates is due to COVID-19, so they are pretty much playing it by the ears.

Do you have a favorite NFL and or college, football team?! Let me know by leaving a comment below and also let me know if, in your opinion, that they are playing well or not?!

My ancestry history surprises me

I have decided to subscribe to Ancestry a few days ago, they are expensive as they cost me $50 a month, and they offer two weeks trial so that is a lot helpful for me so I can know if it would worth that much of money or not. I am not talking about that, but I will talk about my descendants because I never knew I had a couple of family members, but now that I do, thanks to Ancestry service. I have two family members that are actually a big deal, so far as I am still working on it, but so far, I found two big deal members, and what I mean by big deal I am talking about famous people. Both are on my mother’s side; specifically, my grandmother’s father’s side on my mom’s side has two members I realize are a big deal. Want to know who they are?!

My 6th greats grandmother is Princess Patricia Margret Sandusky “Wampatuah” Blair; she is what they call “princess of Cherokee Indians,” and she was married to Jacob Blair I.

So, apparently, I am indeed a native of Cherokee. Another one is on my grandfather’s side on my mother’s side, married to my grandmother, who has a princess Cherokee of Indians on her family line. My grandfather’s dad’s side has someone who also has generations of sons in line with something. What am I talking about, and who? His name is Sir Richard Phillips. If you don’t know who that is, I don’t blame you because I didn’t know until I read his record. Sir Richard Phillips was the first baronet of Picton Castle in Shropshire, England. He was my 11th great-grandfather.

He also had sons who were baronets. Here they are:

These are three important members in my family that I have discovered so far as I am still gathering some information and wait for some potentials that have records. It is so interesting that I have a princess of Cherokee on my grandmother’s mom’s side and three baronets in England on my grandfather’s dad’s side. I have a discovered a living family member through 23andme who personally e-mailed me, found out that she is a daughter of my grandfather’s brother, so we send e-mails to each other, and she told me that we have Daniel Boone in our family line, but I haven’t picked up on him yet as I just started building a family tree while collecting records. On my dad’s family side, we are supposed to be related to George Washington, but I have not picked up on him either at the moment. If you don’t know what baronet is, it is considered the lowest heredity title British order with the status of a commoner but can use the prefix “Sir.”

Do you have any famous descendants in your family lines?! Leave a comment below and let me know who they are! I never thought that building a family tree, doing some genealogy and ancestry findings is interesting, but here I am at it!

The COVID-19 pandemic is still up and up.

The COVID-19 pandemic seems like it is not going away soon, and I can understand that many of us are being frustrated over that. So am I; I am one of the most impatient people in the world, and anyone who is an impatient person does not do well under the COVID-19 pandemic that we here in the United States are dealing with. I know it is frustrating that our president and our government is not handling the COVID-19 pandemic too well on both sides. If everyone in the United States at least listens to what Dr. Fauci said, following CDC’s guideline, we would pull ourselves out of it quicker. Unfortunately, we are not as many people refuse to follow the guideline such as wearing masks or doing social distancing. We see a lot of parties that were crowded, people still ignore the guideline at weddings or funerals, even people protest on the streets against the mandate to wear masks, and now our governments are opening schools, which is now not only us adults at risk of being exposed to the virus but also our children which that also means they can expose the virus to their parents or worse their grandparents, so we are becoming what they call super-spreaders.

If everyone just is united, stays home but only goes out if it is a must or necessary such as food shopping or doctor appointment (which can be avoided as some doctors offer telemedicine). If we needed to, then be sure to wear the mask fully for 14 days or at least a month, then we would drastically reduce our COVID-19 cases, then we would finally start to see declines in every state, in our county, or our city. It is not hard, wear masks, distance yourself from others within’ 6 feet or further, and be sure to wash our hands thoroughly often. The reason that we continue to top records almost every day with the COVID-19 cases is that some people refuse to wear masks and stay distant from us within’ 6 feet or further. It is selfish for anyone to refuse to wear a mask and distance themselves within’ 6 feet or further from other people because they care about themselves than us until they get it themselves. I have health problems, including respiratory, but I wear a mask so that I won’t expose anyone else with COVID-19 while at the same time protecting myself. Tough to breathe? Yes, and there is a face screen, so your excuse is out of the window now, so get the face screen! Do the right thing, mask up, and follow the guidelines! We will get through this together as long as every one of us does our parts to protect others while we protect ourselves at the same time.

Even if it makes me look weird, I am doing my part, but I rather myself and many others to live than worry about how they look on me. Do your part, seriously.

I know I know I am putting this out again as I did in the past few articles, but they help me because running a website is not cheap. It is not just for maintaining JoshiesWorld’s website but also for getting some funding that would allow me to purchase products or the expense to travel to deliver some content or reviews for all of you readers. Even only a few dollars that is enough for a cup of coffee is helpful, I have a lot of goals to do with JoshiesWorld, and as well there is another project that I am considering to work on, but to do them there would need to be funded to make them a reality. YouTube celebrated Deaf Awareness Week by killing contributed captions

A few days ago, YouTube decided to celebrate the Deaf Awareness Week by killing a part of its accessibility that the Deaf community heavily relies on, closed captions. Many YouTubers don’t like adding the closed captions to their videos; some think it’s too expensive to pay for captions for their videos, so they allow contributors to make captions for them somewhat helps. YouTube had a feature in their captions for videos where everyone can contribute different languages to caption their videos. Many people would be willing to contribute their time by building closed captions for some videos so that the Deaf community could have access to their videos to know what it is going on or what they are talking about in their videos. Half a million have signed a petition in the hope of convincing Google, who owns YouTube, not to kill off the crowd-sourced caption feature. Unfortunately, it did not persuade them as they said that they are killing that community contribution because of spam and low usability. However, Google has declared that they would be covering the cost of 6 months subscription to Amara.org for all creators who have used the community contribution feature for at last three videos in the past 60 days.

That cost Google more money in the end rather than running their in-house solution and keep their community contribution feature for everyone who would like to contribute captions for some people’s videos. They also said that they have full automatic captions that should be enough accessibility for the Deaf community. Still, they do not realize that their auto-captions are full of errors because it barely can detect what anyone says in the videos.

Addicting game on Apple TV!

For the past couple of months, I cannot ever stop playing a game from Apple Arcade on Apple TV calls Squeaky Sasquatch. It is a game where you pretty much live as a sasquatch while at the same time finding some treasures, working a few jobs to earn money, and play some games within’ the game such as racing boat or car for money as well if win first place. This Squeaky Sasquatch game is an addicting game and absolutely fun to play. You would have to be subscribed to Apple Arcade to play Squeaky Sasquatch, though; it cost $4.99 a month to play any games that Apple Arcade has, unlike in Apple Store, where you would have to pay for every game you want to play, but in Apple Arcade it only cost $4.99 a month to play all of the games that Apple has in their Arcade. I also like that the developer of Squeaky Sasquatch updates the game a few times every month because it means that Squeaky Sasquatch keeps on getting new goals, new maps, and new games within,’ and more so Squeaky Sasquatch keeps on getting better as they expand the game. You can also play Squeaky Sasquatch on iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and iMac as long as they have the Apple Arcade app on it. If you are bored and have nothing to do, then I suggest that you get Squeaky Sasquatch because it will keep you on wanting to play while at the same time no longer being bored!
