Now, like many others, I have a sweet tooth from time to time or a hunger for something sweet, such as a candy. Everyone has their favorite candies, and I do too. Mine is Reese’s, specifically the seasonal ones, such as Valentine’s, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. The current one is obviously a pumpkin Reese’s, since the Halloween holiday is coming up in a few weeks, at the end of October. What candy is your favorite?! Mine, it has to be Oreo, that is for sure. Talking about dipping an Oreo cookie in a glass or cup of milk and soaking it up to soften the cookie. Oh, goodness! So, my favorite candy is Reese’s, and my favorite cookie is Oreo. Imagine ifReese’s, owned by Hershey Co., and Oreo, owned by Mondelez, collaborated to create one of my favorite snacks. Let me dream for a bit – a combination of these two. How would that be? Wait, they have done it, and we have Reese’s Oreo Cup! So, of course, I had to hunt for them and found some to purchase and try out! They shipped them here a few days ago, and I’ve got them. Now, I am going to share what I think about the Reese’s Oreo cups in this review!
Before I begin the review, I want to clarify that when I mentioned Hershey Co. and Mondelez collaborating on the Reese’s Oreo Cup, it wasn’t the only initiative they undertook. They have also created Oreo cookies with Reese’s inside! Talk about Reese’s cups with Oreo in them, and Oreo cookies with Reese’s in them. What a marriage! Unfortunately for us, they are only out as limited editions, meaning that there is a limited number of them. So, be sure to grab them while you can, because the more people buy them, the harder it will be for others to find them, as they are limited editions.
As I mentioned earlier, I have obtained the Reese’s Oreo Cups, which I will display in the pictures below, including the packaging and their appearance. I haven’t tried the Oreo Reese’s cookies yet, as I haven’t been able to find them where I am, so I would likely end up having to order them online, as I did for the Reese’s Oreo Cups. If you cannot find either of them, don’t worry. I’ll share where you can get both online at the end of this review. What do I think of Reese’s Oreo Cups? I brought 24 packs of 1.4oz Reese’s Oreo Cups, which contain two Reese’s Oreo Cups each. When I did, I admit that I was worried they could melt when they were shipped here because the weather is still too warm. Still, I was relieved to find that the shipping package with Reese’s Oreo Cups came with ice packs wrapped in some kind of foam to contain the ice inside the box, preventing the Reese’s Oreo Cups from melting. I thought I’d have to deal with melted chocolate everywhere inside the shipping package, but thankfully, that didn’t happen. So, what do I think of Reese’s Oreo Cups? When you open the pack, you will see that the Reese’s cup features a dual-layer shell with a combination of Reese’s peanut butter and crushed Oreo cookies inside, topped with white creme at the top and half milk chocolate at the bottom. I have cut it in half, as shown in one of the pictures below, to give you an idea of what it looks like. When I took the bite, I could clearly taste that it was a Reese’s cup, but then there was the crunch, and when I bit into the crunchy part, I could taste that it was clearly Oreo cookies. If you ask me, it tastes maybe like Hershey’s Creme’ n’ Cookies candy bar, but with peanut butter? No, I wouldn’t say it does, because when I tasted it, it screams Reese’s, and then the crunchies, as they reach the taste buds, scream crushed Oreo cookies. So, you can identify that it tastes like a Reese’s peanut butter cup as you take a bite because they melt in your mouth like a Reese’s peanut butter cup does, and when you chomp something crunchy, you will clearly taste Oreo cookies. The real Oreo cookies, not the alternative or other “cookie sandwich” (no offense to any of you, like Wal-Mart’s Great Value or other names – I like some of them!). This is the collision of a Reese’s peanut butter cup and an Oreo cookie! If you’re a Reese’s lover and an Oreo lover, then you can cheat on each other with a Reese’s Oreo cup! Win-win, right?!
Bottom line, they are what they are: Reese’s Oreo Cup. It would be no different from taking a bite of a Reese’s peanut butter cup, then taking a bite of an Oreo cookie, and they melt in your mouth! With that said, would I recommend them? My answer to that question is, absolutely! Regarding the review’s rating of Reese’s Oreo Cup, I have given this careful consideration. After eating them again from time to time, I have decided to rate the Reese’s Oreo Cup a 3.8. The translation of the 3.8 rating is very good. Only point 2 away from great.
