To whom this may concern at Snapchat, This is Joshua “Joshie” Sullivan, an owner of JoshiesWorld since August 7th, 2007. I am writing an open/public letter to Snapchat, also known as Snapchat Inc. For over a decade, I have been dealing with Snapchat’s stubbornness and refusal to hand over the username JoshiesWorld to me, as I am the rightful owner of JoshiesWorld since August 7, 2007. I am still utterly disappointed with Snapchat, and I am getting tired of their repeated excuse that when it comes to usernames, it’s first-come, first-served. It’s understandable if the name doesn’t belong to anyone, but not when it’s already owned by someone else. I’ve sent all kinds of documents that include proof of my ownership of JoshiesWorld since August 7, 2007. The person who registered with my identity brand name hasn’t been active for over a decade now. Snapchat needs to do the right thing, and it makes no sense that Snapchat keeps an inactive registered name over the rightful owner who would be more active. Additionally, they would receive more business through my usage compared to getting nothing from an inactive user. Even though I do have a Snapchat account, which is TheJoshiesWorld, I registered that name, which was meant to be temporary, until Snapchat hands over the name JoshiesWorld to me as…

For many months, I have been using my iPhone as an alarm, relying on its vibration, or haptic feedback, to wake me up as a Deaf person. Not only did I have my phone to vibrate, but I also always had my phone’s sound on the highest setting possible. Using a phone as an alarm clock is acceptable. I am sure many people now rely on their phones for this purpose, rather than having a traditional alarm clock. However, these devices aren’t always effective for heavy sleepers. Speaking of heavy sleepers, I am one of them, combined with being Deaf, so there were the times that it failed to wake me up, and I always had the phone laid beside me on the bed, especially that the phone was either on my arm or my shoulder because as I said I am Deaf so to wake me up is feeling the vibration from my phone. Those times when it failed to wake me up were building my frustration up because I am not a fan of sleeping in for more than four hours. For many years, my bones have, for some reason, not been able to tolerate sleeping or lying down for too long. Ironically, it is said that as you get older, you want to sleep longer, but for…
Today, August 7th, 2025, marks the 18th anniversary of JoshiesWorld! JoshiesWorld was founded on August 7th, 2007, which seems like a couple of years ago to me, but it is eighteen (18) years, which is unbelievable, but at the same time, it is humbling for me. It was the birth of my passion to become a blogger/journalist. From there, I expanded into reviewing and content creation, and JoshiesWorld evolved into not only a news and media company but also a personal identity brand for me as a content creator. Since the beginning of 2007, it has grown significantly and continues to grow, but it wouldn’t be possible without the support some of you have given to JoshiesWorld! JoshiesWorld wouldn’t still be around if it weren’t for your support and the continued motivation that you have given me to continue. JoshiesWorld grows because of your support, including sharing the words about JoshiesWorld, sharing the content published by JoshiesWorld, the donations that some of you have given to JoshiesWorld over the years since JoshiesWorld was founded, and helping to promote JoshiesWorld with merchandise such as stickers, pens, business cards, and more. For a few instances, my mom would hand out stickers, pens, business cards, and wear a couple of JoshiesWorld’s t-shirts. The other one is this guy, who, unfortunately, is no longer…
Happy Juneteenth National Independence Day, one of the most important days in the history of the United States of America. If you wonder what Juneteenth is about, it’s a day on June 19, 1865, when freedom began for the Black community as the United States of America ended slavery. Even though President Abraham Lincoln ordered the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863 to end the slavery of African-Americans, not everyone agreed with that or did not get the order until later due to slow delivery and on that day June 19th, 1865, the United States Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in the state of Texas at the end of American civil war. On June 19, 1865, the black community was freed in every state. Even though slavery ended, there were some people, including some politicians, who tried to find every way to restrict their freedoms, such as Jim Crow laws, which segregated colored people from having the same access to things that white people had. Such as segregation in education, public services, businesses, restaurants, and others. Although it was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson with the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it had initially passed through the United States House and the United States Senate with bipartisan…
For a while, I have been writing articles on a single topic, but this time, I will write a multiple-topic, obvious article. Hence, the title is MultiTopic because I want to write about several topics. I have a list of topics I continue to add to, and it’s getting a bit too long for my taste, so I need to consolidate some of them in one article to clean up my list. Additionally, I don’t want the topics on my list to become too dated. As always, I hope you enjoy at least one of the topics covered in this article. If you’d like to discuss a specific topic further, please leave a comment below. Ad Blocker Harms Content Creators Having ads on our websites, articles, videos, and other content generates revenue, allowing us to cover our bills, food, equipment, and other expenses. For example, my bills, which include several domains, cover the server and maintenance for all my websites, including JoshiesWorld’s website, equipment, and other expenses, amounting to thousands of dollars almost monthly. Many of us, including myself, do not want to charge anyone to access our content, as some do.
