Save-A-Lot in South Williamson, KY is closing

I have unfortunate news for everyone in Belfry, KY; Williamson, WV; and the surrounding area: we didn’t want to expect it, but we did. One of the stores we liked going to for many years is closing because it always had good deals on the products it sold. The store I am talking about is Save-A-Lot in South Williamson, KY. More than three employees at Save-A-Lot, whom I will not name, shared with us that the store is on its way to closing and that it would be lucky to make it to September. The employees there said that Save-A-Lot no longer restocks and will continue to sell whatever it has left until it closes. A few employees at Save-A-Lot have said they are already looking for a new job or have found one ahead of time before Save-A-Lot closes. While it’s well known that competitors such as Walmart and the rebuilt Food City hurt Save-A-Lot badly, what put the nail in its coffin was the refusal to fix the bridge you would drive across to get to Save-A-Lot. That bridge was destroyed a few years ago, and the property owner refused to allow anyone to repair it, which hit Save-A-Lot hard in the long run and now results in its closure. This confluence of challenges, especially the prolonged bridge…

Toronto’s Steakhouse and Mexican Bar and Grill

There was talk in the town about a new restaurant, Toronto’s Steakhouse and Mexican Bar and Grill. Many locals talked about the restaurant and looked forward to trying out the food and drinks it offered. Several local news outlets have written an article about the new restaurant. As a journalist/blogger, I didn’t write anything about it because I have often seen a few local restaurants or businesses open but only last a short time and go out of business, which is unfortunate to witness as a local. Plus, when they opened Toronto’s Steakhouse and Mexican Bar and Grill, they already had a competitor on day one because they weren’t the town’s only steakhouse and/or Mexican restaurant. We have a Steakhouse in South Williamson, Ky, that restaurant is one of the longest running restaurants in the area, and then there is Sazon Mexican Restaurant in the same town, and El Torito Mexican restaurant in South Williamson, Ky, which is only about 1.5 miles away from these Mexican restaurants. There is another one, but it’s a bit further in Matewan, WV, called Mi Pueblito, about 6 miles away, Hacienda Mexican restaurant in Logan, WV, about 4 miles away, and Mi Hacienda Mexican restaurant in Pikeville, KY, about 5 miles away. So there are many Mexican restaurants in a short distance from Pikeville,…

I know it is about time that I finally decided to write a new snippets article after a very long time, and I apologize. This year has been hectic for me, including a thing that is a very good thing that happened in my life before that I had a bit of time for articles writing or writing some reviews. Still, since that happened, I shifted all the time I have and more on that good thing that happened this year for me because it is the most important thing for me over writing articles, writing reviews, or anything that has to do with the internet such as social media or whatnot. I am sure I will share what I am talking about in one of the topics below. Still, I think it is because I have not written a snippets article in a very long time, it might be a bit long and has several topics, but at least there is plenty of reading for you to do! As always, here are the topics included in this snippet’s article. To see the list of the topics, you can do so by clicking the “expand topics list” below to open up the list of topics included in this snippets article. This also will be helpful for anyone who does not…

I know it has been a long time since I wrote a snippets article; a few things prevent me from finding the time to write an article or even a review for anything. In the summer is when I usually barely find any time to write anything, but as the fall season approach and then the winter is when I find the time to write more often, which is why if you take a good look at all of my articles or reviews written on here you would see that I write more often from fall to spring then slow down a lot in the summer. During the summer, there are always conflicts in my schedules for anything, not just my media company/blog but also other works such as photography since I own a photography business and my time for anything such as spending time with family or friends. I always struggle with trying to find any time that has no conflict with others in the summer. Still, from fall to spring, especially in the winter, it becomes easier on me, so this year should not be any different than many years in a row, so I should be back writing more articles or reviews as the fall approach or more so when the winter is nearing. Before I start…

Hey guys and ladies! I hope that all of you are doing well! I know that this year hasn’t been too good to any of us thanks to the virus pandemic, as it unexpectedly disrupts many of our routines on the business level and as well on a personal level. I hope that all of you are protecting yourself if not for your elderly family members or friends and the people with health conditions since we know that anyone who is elder or who has health condition is the ones at the highest risk if they are exposed to COVID-19. I know it isn’t easy to distance ourselves from the elders or people with health condition ones to protect them, but there is always a way to take advantage of modern technology such as video chat. The more people who follow what the health officials ask of us, such as wearing masks and social distances at least six feet or further and washing our hands thoroughly, the quicker we can beat the invisible enemy of ours. If you refuse to do that, then at least do one right thing: to distance yourself from the elder ones or those who have health conditions because doing so would mean you would show them the respect they would for you. Just because you…

Pirates Pizza

It was almost expected that this pizza restaurant would not be very good. The only reason this deserves one and a half stars is that the staff are friendly, but the pizza, along with their other food, is the problem. The pizza they create has very tough, rubber-like, dried cheese with a cardboard-tasting crust. Their food doesn’t taste fresh, as if the sauce is canned and the sausage is frozen pepperoni slices you can buy at Walmart or other grocery stores. On my conscience, I can never recommend their food to anyone, locally or nationally. If anyone is looking for a pizza they can enjoy, there are two that are 10 times better: Pizza Hut and Little Caesars.
