For many months, I have been using my iPhone as an alarm, relying on its vibration, or haptic feedback, to wake me up as a Deaf person. Not only did I have my phone to vibrate, but I also always had my phone’s sound on the highest setting possible. Using a phone as an alarm clock is acceptable. I am sure many people now rely on their phones for this purpose, rather than having a traditional alarm clock. However, these devices aren’t always effective for heavy sleepers. Speaking of heavy sleepers, I am one of them, combined with being Deaf, so there were the times that it failed to wake me up, and I always had the phone laid beside me on the bed, especially that the phone was either on my arm or my shoulder because as I said I am Deaf so to wake me up is feeling the vibration from my phone. Those times when it failed to wake me up were building my frustration up because I am not a fan of sleeping in for more than four hours. For many years, my bones have, for some reason, not been able to tolerate sleeping or lying down for too long. Ironically, it is said that as you get older, you want to sleep longer, but for…

Ever since I got a new camera for my professional photography, a few things on the list are a must-have for every photographer, and one of them is extra batteries. Having extra batteries means that we have to get chargers for them as well because batteries for camera are often sold separately without the actual charger, as there are a few options that we could go for, such as getting the OEM charger or go for a third-party charger that can charge more than one battery, so that was the routine I took. If I were to go for every OEM battery charger for each battery, I would need several outlets for them. A twin (double) battery charger has a better advantage because it can charge two or more batteries using only one outlet and is less cluttered this way. I will be happier if the same manufacturer of the camera’s battery says Nikon has their own charging station for any batteries they have for all of their batteries. Still, they do not have a single charger for one battery, so one charger for each one battery, and knowing us photographers who need a good number of batteries, we probably have several power strips to charge all of the batteries for our camera(s). The problem with that is, it is…
I have been experiencing a pressing issue with my iPhone 8 Plus, which I have owned for over two years now. I plan to continue using it, even though I am overdue for a contract renewal, but I am holding off because of the highly anticipated new iPhone this year, 2020. They are discussing how 2020 is the year to be on the lookout for, especially for the iPhone, which is my reason for holding out, so I am waiting for one in September 2020. Nonetheless, when a gadget ages, it usually becomes more prone to problems, and like there is a saying – nothing is unbreakable. My iPhone 8 Plus screen started coming off on one side. The problem wasn’t my screen; it was the iPhone’s battery, and the screen started coming out of its body (phone) due to the battery swelling up. Yes, batteries do run down if you heavily rely on charging your device, and this is what happens to my iPhone because I always keep my phone connected to my desktop for charging and syncing. After all, in my mind, I should always keep my iPhone fully charged in case anything happens, such as a power outage, or if we are going somewhere unexpected, or for other reasons. My iPhone’s battery swelled up, pushing the screen…
