Red Dead Redemption 2

Ever since I have decided to get back to PC gaming, most of the games I have were a couple of years old, and I need something new. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is a new game that I recently brought so I could have a new game to play, and after a few days of playing that game, I have decided to go for one more or a couple of more video games to add to my list to play, so I remembered a couple of months ago I saw one of my friends recorded gameplay on his Facebook profile that I thought would be a great game to play, but at that time I wasn’t back to gaming yet. That gameplay video I am talking about is a video game of Red Dead Redemption 2; I have taken a look at it a few times online and kept my eyes on it until just a few days ago, I have decided to go ahead to buy the video game Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a video game developed by Rockstar Games, and we know how they are good at developing popular franchise video games such as Grand Theft Auto. I have Grand Theft Auto V, which I also decided to redownload the game, and by redownloading the game, I mean download Grand Theft Auto V again for the PC. I am a PC gamer, and yes, that means the version of Red Dead Redemption 2 I brought is also for PC. I brought Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate video game digital for PC because people now download everything instead of buying the physical ones such as video games, movies, television shows, and music, so video games are no different. I prefer that way because I don’t see the need to have physical ones if I could download the video game. I can burn it onto a disc if I want to, but I never do, although I download every video game to cloud storage to download them for any PC in the future.

Back to the subject of Red Dead Redemption 2, well, almost, and that is the video game that I will be reviewing here. As I said above, we all know how good Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto franchise video games; in my mind that since they also developed Red Dead Redemption 1 and as well 2, I figured that they would be great video games also. After downloading Red Dead Redemption 2, yes, I have skipped the first one because, as I said, I want to play the latest video game, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is somewhat of the latest video game. I may buy the first one in the future, but now I will focus on the second one. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for most popular gaming devices such as Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, but I am aware that Rockstar Games was a lot late in making it available for PC because when they released Red Dead Redemption 2, I did look for PC one, but at that time when they released the video game, they said that it is not available for PC. There were some rumors online that Rockstar may release Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC and also may not releasing one for PC, too, but a lot of gamers suspected that Rockstar would eventually release the video game for PC because they did the same way with Grand Theft Auto video games. They released Grand Theft Auto video games for gaming-centric devices such as Xbox and PlayStation first, then released them sometimes later, so many gamers suspected that would be the same routine with Red Dead Redemption 2, which they were right about that because Rockstar Games made Red Dead Redemption 2 available for PC now. When I found out that Rockstar Games didn’t release it for PC, I was disappointed because I am more of a PC gamer back then. Now I am playing PC games again, so I wanted to play Red Dead Redemption 2 when they had it released, but I could not because they did not have it available for PC. Rockstar Games and all game developers should make their video games available for PC when they also release these games for the gaming consoles like Xbox or PlayStation.

After downloading Red Dead Redemption 2 via Rockstar Games Launcher, I did not play the video game away because it was late that night and what I did not realize was that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a vast video game so it took a while to download the game even on a 200 Mbps internet connection speed. Red Dead Redemption 2 video game download for PC is around, or close to 150GB size, which is enormous; in my opinion, I was glad to see that because the larger size would tell me that the video game is going to have plenty of missions to play and that the graphic is going to be amazing because of the larger file for graphic equal higher quality in pictures in the game. The next day I decided to play Red Dead Redemption 2; I was quickly fantastic by the beginning of Red Dead Redemption 2, and once the beginning of the game was over, the first thing that came to my mind was that it is like Grand Theft Auto but in cowboys theme. In Red Dead Redemption 2, you get to play several missions, I started playing the video game about a week ago and played several missions already, but it said that I have only completed about 7% of the game missions. That excites me because that means that I get to play the video game for a while instead of only playing the video game is worthy of a day, and have it completed wishing that I could keep going on. On Red Dead Redemption 2, you get to pretty much do what you would do on Grand Theft Auto, except it is in the cowboys’ era, so you get to ride horses, study horses, collect plants, do some crafting, do some skinning on animals for materials or to trade for money, buying weapons along with ammunitions and as well upgrades. What’s even more entertaining is that it is almost real because in Red Dead Redemption 2, your weapons do get dirty, and they started to lose their functions or power, so you would have to clean them using guns oil or to take them to the weapons shop to have the dealer to clean them for a price. Speaking of skinning the game animals, you get to go hunting, which they gave you the bows to do so, but you can shoot them with a gun, although you should not because one of the characters in Red Dead Redemption 2 recommends that you to use the bow to hunt instead of shooting from a gun because shooting a gun would scare off a lot of animals while the bow is more of silent, so you don’t scare them off. Once you have them hunted down, you can grab the animal and slap them on your horse, and then you take the animal to a butcher. They also have a store where you can go shopping for some foods such as canned beans, whiskeys, rums, and whatnot, which can be used to refill your health, stamina, or your dead eye. You also sell or purchase things, including horses, and speaking of owning horses, you also take care of them by feeding, petting, brushing, and whatnot.

To get these things, you will need some money and how can you get the money? That is where it gets interesting. There are a few ways that you can get cash is; you do missions to earn some cash, including robbing trains or other places, looting of the people that you killed, grabbing some of the things from their houses, cabinets, or dressers, and whatnot. In Red Dead Redemption 2, you also get to personalize yourself, which I like. You get to shave, trim, and whatnot your beard or hair, or they can be done through a barbershop in some town. Do you know the stars flashing when the cops on Grand Theft Auto are chasing you? It is almost the same on Red Dead Redemption 2 except that it is a proceeding bar of the word “wanted,” and they will have people over investigating to see if they have something on you to post a wanted bounty on you, which you can pay off at a post office or risk it by getting away from other people. I think that Rockstar Games did a fantastic job with Red Dead Redemption 2; the graphics are amazing and what I appreciate even more is that Rockstar Games have a few options for the subtitle, such as an option to show each person’s name in the subtitle so that way I could know who says what. As I said, the graphics are amazing as it shows reflection off the waters, showing shadows from the buildings and plants hovering the grass – it looks almost real!

If you are a fan of Grand Theft Auto video games, you will like Red Dead Redemption 2! Because the best way I can describe Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it is like Grand Theft Auto but in cowboys theme or era, and it has a lot more things to do than you would get from Grand Theft Auto. I am trying to restrain as much as I can not to spoil too much of Red Dead Redemption 2, but I can tell you that it’s entertaining as it gives you plenty of things to do in the game, and I highly recommend Red Dead Redemption 2 by Rockstar Studios!

I am rating Red Dead Redemption 2 by Rockstar Games a 4.3, which translates close to really great.

Bottom Line

The best way to describe Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it is almost like Grand Theft Auto but with a cowboy theme or in cowboys era and has many more things to do than you usually would get from Grand Theft Auto video games. Red Dead Redemption 2 video game was developed by Rockstar Games, the same developer who developed Grand Theft Auto franchise video games. The graphics in Red Dead Redemption 2 is beautiful and almost real. It comes with several missions that have you play video games for several days or weeks, depending on how long you play a day.
