Thought?:

Before I start stating my thought on this speakers, I would like to note that I am Deaf although I do have some hearing especially for the instruments which that is the most important thing when it comes to shopping for speakers for me because I need a clear and loudspeakers. On some days I would like to hear some sounds especially the instruments on movies, television shows, music and as well on the internet when no one is around so I can enjoy some music or hearing the sounds (steps, raindrops, horse walking, shooting, engines roaring, etc) in movies or television shows. Many speakers have failed me, only very few that give me what I need which is crisp clear sound, bass, loud and clarity. In order to get what I need is mostly found in large speakers, for instance, the 5.1 speakers with subwoofers and whatnot.

So, I was shopping for new speakers because I started getting tired of using studio headphones with a portable amp. I am heavily desktop user so I figured that I would buy the speakers for PC as that is where I need the sounds the most, I came across some 5.1 loudspeakers with subwoofers that interested me and then I kept passing by that Creative Labs’ Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II which is just a 2.0 multimedia speakers. I kept passing by it because it looks like it’s too small and that it wouldn’t produce loud enough for me to hear so I kept on searching for the 5.1 speakers as they are usually very loud with beating bass but my guts kept telling me to go back to that Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II. I kept telling my guts “no”, that they are not just going to work because they would not be loud enough for me and in the back of my head saying that almost all of 2.1/2.0 speakers produce very little sound for me as I have tested so many of them.

My guts kept telling me “get it, seriously” so I stare at it for a couple of days and read some reviews. I finally gave in to my guts, giving it a chance as I have not tried 2.0/2.1 speakers in a decade and I ordered them. Had it shipped to me, I have them hooked up the speakers to my desktop computer using the audio cord (one cord) which that made me think that it obviously is not going to be loud enough for me and I went to a music video on YouTube for “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin” by Michael Jackson because I know they have a great beats. Turned it to the max, expecting that it would be just going to be barely enough for me to hear and I pressed the play button – I almost was blown! The things on my computer desk started moving, it was vibrating so hard due to bass and it was actually too loud for me so I immediately turned it down to about 40% volume which is where I can hear them comfortably.

Ever since then, they changed my mind on the 2.0/2.1 speakers. I always dismiss them that they are not worthy, that the 2-channels speakers do not produce clarity, bass and loudness sounds but oh boy the Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II sure produces them! The sounds are clear, it has some punch in the bass that you would not expect coming from a PC 2-channels speakers and it stunned me because I was not expecting the clarity of the sound that they produced especially for 2.0-channels speakers!

They have tuners for treble, bass and the volume in front of one speaker to adjust for the two speakers. It comes with two choices that you can hook up with, a direct audio input/output and some sort of splitter that you can hook to your PC AND to something else! It also has the inputs for a headphone and aux-in.

I highly recommend Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II for anyone who wants some serious punch in the bass, clarity sounds and is just loud enough. It doesn’t shake your room like the 5.1 speakers with subwoofers would but it definitely will shake your desktop table if you lay the speakers there! I am very happy with the product, I am glad that my guts changed my mind because I wasn’t really in mood for getting some speakers that shakes down the wall of a room as I only want the speakers that is just loud enough coming from small thing with minimal hassle (hook-ups) unlike the 5.1 speakers with subwoofers because you would have to hook to each speaker back of a subwoofer then trying to find 2 or 3 inputs in the back of a PC which can be a problematic especially that some newest PC doesn’t offer them. Now, these Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II is not very small, like you would expect from a PC table speaker but they are just small enough to fit on a desktop desk. If you have a 28” monitor these speakers are 3/4 tall of that monitor so to give you an idea of the size of these speakers. Again, I highly recommend them!
