I want to take the time to publish a public letter to address what Charlie Kirk said on his show, The Charlie Kirk Show, on Real America’s Voice channel. He said that having American Sign Language interpreters on television is a distraction, which has caused many Republicans and Trump supporters to be negative about it. Before I start, I will share a video and a screenshot of an example of what Charlie Kirk caused a ramification. Everyone is entitled to their opinions; however, sometimes there are right and wrong opinions. Unfortunately, Charlie Kirk’s opinion is very wrong, while at the same time giving the Republicans, Trump supporters, and others the ammo to be offensive about it, which is oppressive. I have shown an example in the screenshot that I posted above of someone like Christopher F. Rufo, Miranda Devine, Tony Martin, and others speaking negatively about a real language (read about American Sign Language is a real language) that the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community use as their primary/native language, which is American Sign Language. In Charlie Kirk’s Show, he said that having sign language interpreters on the television is a distraction. That closed caption is good enough. Not many Deaf people have the opportunity to learn English like Charlie Kirk speaks in his show, a language that does…
A few people told me I should write about my diet journey, where I have lost over sixty pounds, and how I did it, especially since I am a wheelchair user. It was a good idea to write an article about my diet journey in case some people wonder how I do it so that they learn from it and apply it to their diet. Before I start writing my diet journey here, I would like to make a disclaimer that I am NOT a doctor, a nutritionist, a dietitian, or an expert regarding diet. If you are seeking help with your diet, I recommend chatting with your doctor or getting yourself a dietitian or nutritionist. Also, what I did and how I did for my diet does not mean it would work for everyone else, as we are different. That is where the trials and errors come in until we know what works and what does not. But here is my diet journey, which was not easy! The Journey This wasn’t my first diet journey. I went on a diet a few years ago, which was in 2013, and at that time, before I went on a diet, I weighed around 160, then started losing to 94. At that time, my goal was 80, and I didn’t accomplish it…
I know it is about time that I finally decided to write a new snippets article after a very long time, and I apologize. This year has been hectic for me, including a thing that is a very good thing that happened in my life before that I had a bit of time for articles writing or writing some reviews. Still, since that happened, I shifted all the time I have and more on that good thing that happened this year for me because it is the most important thing for me over writing articles, writing reviews, or anything that has to do with the internet such as social media or whatnot. I am sure I will share what I am talking about in one of the topics below. Still, I think it is because I have not written a snippets article in a very long time, it might be a bit long and has several topics, but at least there is plenty of reading for you to do! As always, here are the topics included in this snippet’s article. To see the list of the topics, you can do so by clicking the “expand topics list” below to open up the list of topics included in this snippets article. This also will be helpful for anyone who does not…
It is that time of year again, as we are at the beginning of September in 2019, and it is the month of International Deaf Awareness Month! Every year in September, the deaf and hard-of-hearing community comes together to celebrate. At the same time, we use this opportunity as a platform to raise awareness among the public, educating them about our community and sharing with them many aspects valued in the Deaf community, such as its culture and various sign languages. As for me here in United States, American Sign Language is not the only sign language because every country have their own country such as British Sign Language (BSL), Mexican Sign Language (LSM), Australia Sign Language (Auslan), French Sign Language (LSF), South African Sign Language (SASL), Korean Sign Language (KSL) and others so you get the idea that most of the countries have their own sign languages including the one here in the United States of America which is American Sign Language but the United States is not the only one county that use American Sign Language since Canada also use American Sign Language as one of their primary sign language along with another one which is Quebec Sign Language (LSQ). So, a lot of you who are hearing don’t know a lot about the Deaf community, and unfortunately,…
Time for other snippets where I will share some opinions, some sort of reviews, sharing some little things about some things and as well talking about some stuff but in short as possible instead of a full-blown article on one subject. In case if you are new and don’t know what snippets article are all about, it is more than one topic in an article instead of only one article on one subject so that it can give you the readers something more to read in one place rather than going one by one for each topic that may interest you. I know I haven’t written anything in a pretty long time ever since the last article came out about exposing a Deaf person’s social security which you can find it here, I have been so busy and when I finally had the time to write some I ends up having some problem with my health (nothing major), then recovered and then got so busy and repeats so I almost couldn’t find any time to write. Even right now I am having a little hard time dealing with my right rib for some reason but I thought that I better just start writing before I keep you all too long waiting for something new from me and I figured that…
