This is the second film for Wonder Woman, as the first one was titled simply Wonder Woman, released on May 25th, 2017, and this second one, the latest, is titled Wonder Woman 1984, released on December 25th, 2020. The main character who portrays Wonder Woman in the first one is the same one that portrays the second movie Wonder Woman 1984, Gal Gadot. If you don’t know what Wonder Woman is, she is a comic character for DC Comics, who is a superhero. Wonder Woman is among the most popular superheroes, with the likes of Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and others.
This Wonder Woman 1984 had pretty decent action scenes but not better than the first one. There are a few moments in this movie that I wish they would have gone a different way or done better. In the first Wonder Woman movie, we could see a good number of epic fights and actions, but this Wonder Woman 1984, if I recall it, only has one or two epic activities that involve fighting. They were almost at the movie’s end, unlike the first Wonder Woman movie. I think the biggest issue with Wonder Woman 1984 is the script itself and the movie’s storyline because I was a bit disappointed that they did not push themselves further than they did in the first Wonder Woman movie. If there is already something or you started something, then there would be nothing but go up. In this case, Wonder Woman 1984 goes straight down, which was a bit disappointing, although it had great actors, especially Gal Gadot, who is the perfect actress for Wonder Woman. The acting is good, but if the storyline is better, that would be even better. The movie has exciting moments, but only so few of them, unlike the first Wonder Woman movie, again, that is why the storyline should’ve been better and filled in a few more exciting moments, but there were only so few. It is almost as if they rushed to produce the Wonder Woman 1984 movie. Some scenes satisfied me, but the script could have gone so much better, but unfortunately, they did not.
Honestly, I think it probably would be better if Wonder Woman 1984 were not made. At least not at that time because maybe then they would do it right and better.
That said, I am giving Wonder Woman 1984 movie a rating of 2.9, which translates very ok. Would I recommend Wonder Woman 1984? I almost want to say no, but it depends on which audience would go for a movie like this. I can say that it’s an a-ok weekend movie if you have nothing to watch, but I cannot recommend it.
