Thought?:

Shazam! It is a DC Comics film, and Shazam is one of DC Comics characters although he is more of in lower class than others such as top-class like Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and whatnot. I watched the film Shazam a few nights ago, and I have been somewhat hesitant to watch Shazam because I was not sure if the movie would be too cheesy or to be one of these movies who just outright nonsense. For a long time, I have kept coming across the Shazam movie. Still, I kept on skipping to the next film when I was searching for a movie to watch until a few nights ago when I was in the mood for any movie whether it is cheesy or not and I came across Shazam movie again so since I have thought that it would be a cheesy movie that I figured why not to give it a shot since I was in the mood for any kinds of a film to watch that night.

After a few minutes into the movie, I realized that it was a mistake and that I should not have been so hesitant to watch Shazam movie. It wasn’t cheesy or a film that is nonsense; a couple of minutes into the movie was interesting, and it keeps me wanting to continue watching the movie because if it were cheesy or nonsense, I would have already stopped playing the film about five to ten minutes into it.

At the beginning of the film would have you so curious what was going on with that little boy in the car with his brother and his deadbeat father because both of them were blaming that little boy in the backseat named Thadd. Thadd was sitting in the backseat doing what small children usually do, which is to bother everyone in the vehicle, especially their parents, but Thadd was holding a magic ball. That magic ball was what lead Thadd to be something else when he becomes an adult – a villain named Dr. Sivana. At first, I assumed that little boy was going to become a superhero Shazam, but it wasn’t that case because that little boy became the very one who would be an enemy of the superhero named Shazam, who is also a little boy named Billy Batson. The last Wizard of 7 wizards of Shazam was looking for a champion, in fact in a hurry because the time for the last Wizard was running out and that little boy Thadd who the Wizard thought he would be the next champion to become Shazam but he failed the test by being tempted to grab The Eye instead when he should have resisted it. The Eye is the eye of sins, its power is seven deadly sins, and Thadd pried the tomb of the lightning orb (eye) it bolt to his right eye.

So, Thadd, aka Dr. Sivana, becomes a villain instead of a superhero, and that gives the Wizard even more pressure in looking for a champion because they needed a champion for that very reason to put the seven deadly sins back to their tombs or statues. Fast forward, a boy named Billy Batson was also on a journey of his own and that journey was to try to find his mother because when he was a little boy, they both were at some sort of fair he let go of his mother’s hand in a crowd so then he never found his way back to his mother. While on his journey to find his mother again, he was hopping from a foster house to another foster home too often because he kept getting himself in trouble and as well kept on running away from their adoptive family. The foster agency had enough of it, they strugglingly found a foster family who would be willing to adopt Billy Batson, but this time it’s with the foster couple who foster multiple children instead of a small home with a small family. Now that he wouldn’t have his own bedroom, he would have to share a room with a bunch of foster children that couple fostered, and at the arrival, Billy Batson didn’t hit off too well with his large fostered family.

However, these foster children were eagerly giving Bill Batson a chance, especially Freddy Freeman, who is a disabled young boy that is a superfan of superheroes such as Batman and some of other DC Comics characters. What he didn’t realize was that Billy Batson was eventually going to be the champion that the Wizard seeks for and that he is the Shazam so, after Billy Batson came back home from meeting the Wizard for the first time with powers and not so little anymore. Hence, his first go-to choice was Freddy Freeman for some help as Billy Batson was still confused with suddenly becoming the new champion. Ever since Freddy Freeman learned about Billy Batson being Shazam, Freddy Freeman helped Billy Batson learning his new powers and how to be a superhero that he was meant to be. Still, it didn’t go all too well, especially that, after being the new champion, he started having ego problems.

Billy Batson/Shazam’s ego becomes bigger to the point that it was hurting Freddy Freeman’s feelings. As well their friendship because all Billy Batson focused on, was to use Shazam for money until he realized that what he has been doing was wrong, but it had to force a circumstance on him to do what is right and be the champion that the Wizard wanted him to be. What is the circumstance? I will leave that curiosity to you because I am recommending you to watch Shazam movie. I have only given you a little spoiler of what happens and a bit of the story in Shazam movie, so you will have to watch to get the rest of it.

This movie is one of the funniest DC Comics movies I have honestly seen. The connection between Billy Batson/Shazam and Freddy Freeman is comedic. It will have you burst out laughing, it will put you in awe, it will worry you, it will have you upset, it will have you cheery, and it will excite you! The cinematic, effects, story/script, casting, and whatnot in Shazam movie is terrific! To the director and the production of Shazam, I say BRAVO! Don’t hesitate to watch Shazam like I did if you have not watch the movie because you definitely will regret that you have been holding it out for too long as I did. This movie Shazam has become one of my favorite DC comics movies along with a few others because it is that GOOD. I am rating Shazam! A 3.9, so close to 4 and 3.9 translate very good close to great! If it had been maybe ten minutes longer, then it would receive a solid four from me, so it’s very close to great! I highly recommend Shazam! Go and watch it!
