Former Belfry High School Principal Runs For Ky House

A former principal of Belfry High School, especially during my time as a student, as well before and after is running for a 93rd district seat in the commonwealth of Kentucky’s house. Maybe by now that many of you may guess who I am referring to, but if you haven’t figured out then I will go ahead and say who is running for the seat in the house of Ky 93rd district which is for both Pike and Martin counties – Rod Varney! He has filed not too long ago with the commonwealth of Kentucky to say that he is running for the house of Kentucky to be a representative for Pike County and Martin County as a Democrat. The current representative is Chris Harris, as we know that Chris Harris has decided to not seek another term because he has decided to run for a higher position which is a seat in the supreme court of Kentucky so that means the seat is up for a grab. Rod Varney has decided to run for that seat as a Democrat, he will be running against a 2-time loser Republican candidate for 93rd District seat in the commonwealth of Kentucky and that would be Norma Kirk-McCormick because she has lost badly twice (2 terms) in a row against an incumbent Democrat representative Chris Harris. Chris Harris has done a lot of good things for Pike County and Martin County, I was very pleased with him and over the years as over two terms we both stayed in touch to make sure that the representative in both Pike/Martin counties of Ky to do good for the Deaf and disabled communities which he has done so.

Now that Chris Harris is leaving the seat, making the 93rd district seat which represents Pike and Martin counties available for someone to grab if elected. Rod Varney is a Democrat which I have mentioned, at this moment there is no Democrat challenger and there is no Republican challenger either so if this continues without any new filings it will be between Rod Varney being nominated democrat and nominated republican Norma Kirk-McCormick in November.

The real question here is, do we want someone from Pike County to represent for both counties or someone from Martin County to represent for both counties? Because Rod Varney is from Pike County and Norma Kirk-McCormick is from Martin County. In my opinion, I think we should pick Rod Varney because he would be representing the largest county in which he knows so well and helping it’s neighbor county Martin county. Not only that, he has experience in administrating a high school (duh) and during my time in high school he was one who tried to make sure that I have access to the school by installing the ramp in library, adding a electricity lift to get from the lunchroom to the first floor and rearranged my classes from different floors to the first floor so that we as disabled students can learn so that means he knows what he is doing especially when it comes to helping the disabled community and as well Deaf population of Pike County, Ky which is over ten thousand (10,000 plus).

Here is the filing list for Kentucky election, Rod Varney of Forest Hills filed for a seat in the house of representative to represent for the 93rd as a democrat and as well Norma Kirk-McCormick as a republican so on both sides they have no challengers as of now. Here is the link to their filings.

Get Rod Varney In

Let’s get Rod Varney the seat for the 93rd seat in the house of the commonwealth of Kentucky! He for sure will have my vote in November and I am certain that a lot of you will especially the staff, students, former alumni, former staff, teachers, friends, family, and whatnot will too. Plus, we would be electing the principal who truly know how education run, so he would be the perfect candidate that Kentucky teachers want especially that we know there is still a lot to improve the education along with making sure that the teachers to get the earnings that they deserve, even though we have elected a few goods and finally a Democrat governor Andy Beshear that starts working on improving the education along with making sure that the teachers are being heard but we know he can’t get this along because it takes a house then a senate before they can get to the governor’s desk so this means we need more people who support the teachers in Ky congress – that seat is waiting for the person like Rod Varney! Be sure to share this article with your friends, family, and others to let them know that we have another person (along with outgoing representative Chris Harris) right within’ our area who is running for the seat in Kentucky house so that we can elect one of our own rather than having someone else from another county who lost twice for several good reasons to run our county along with Martin County which is her county. Both Chris Harris and Rod Varney resides in Forest Hills, Ky themselves. Rod Varney wasn’t the only principal for Belfry High School, he was also a coach at Belfry High School as well and so Rod Varney is one of many things so he can handle anything that throws in his way.

If Rod Varney has been elected, I am hoping that we will be in touch and stay in touch on how to improve or work with to help over 10,000 Deaf population along with thousands of disabled population in Pike County, Ky alone like I and current Chris Harris has been doing for two terms of Chris Harris.
