Name: The Last Kingdom
Description: As a child, Uhtred witnessed his father being killed and the Saxon army defeated by invading troops. Danish warlord Earl Ragnar captured Uhtred and raised him in a Danish camp alongside fellow captive Brida, a sharp-tongued girl. Years later, Uhtred is a valiant warrior who is dealt another tragic blow when his home is deliberately set on fire, killing his surrogate family, including Ragnar. Now exiled -- alone except for Brida by his side -- he vows to avenge Ragnar's death and reclaim his homeland. But, he must choose between his birth country and the people who raised him. If he is going to help birth a new nation and ultimately recapture his ancestral land he must walk a dangerous path between both sides.

I truly believe that this television show is one of the best alternatives to Game of Thrones, although it would be better to compare with Vikings than Game of Thrones this is definitely a must-see television show especially if you are a huge fan of Game of Thrones TV series. From the beginning of the show you would immediately start off thinking which is good guys and which is not good guys – at the start, you’d think that Uhtred (main actor) is in the bad guys’ group but then it surprises you that he isn’t even a bad guy.
Almost like Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, in the beginning, you would think that he isn’t that important character but in long run, he became the face of the television show and this is the same with The Last Kingdom for Uthred.
Ragnar captured Uthred along with Brida which both you will be seeing at the beginning and both will be the important two to keep an eye on down the road. The Last Kingdom TV show continues as they have renewed and already is in production for the 4th season which is the season to watch out for! I have a feeling and hoping that The Last Kingdom will continue for several seasons because that television show is that good especially if I am putting in the same group as Game of Thrones along with Vikings. Think Vikings show is fantastic? I agree but The Last Kingdom is even better and I highly recommend the TV show so if you have Netflix you can watch all three (3) seasons of The Last Kingdom while waiting for the new 4th season to come out!
