I think almost every one of us has to have shaving cream for shaving, not only for men but also for all genders or non-genders, to have a better shaving experience than outright shaving any hair on our body raw (without soap, water, or anything). Everyone has different tastes and preferences, including our choice of shaving cream or shaving soap. I have been very loyal to one shaving cream brand for many years, and that brand is probably the most popular of all – Gillette. I always went for Gillette Fusion Proglide Shave Gel; it did me well. However, upon reflection, I chose them the most because they are so popular, and everyone goes to Gillette for their shaving products, including their razors. A few months ago, I decided to look into shaving tools and other related products, including various types of shaving cream, gel, and soap. I have gone through several shaving supplies in a year, trying many unknown brands, off-brand products, and other somewhat known or popular brands to meet my shaving needs. After trying many of them, from every brand you can think of, I am almost sure I have tried them all. Now, I have discovered my favorite shaving cream, which I am going to share with you. What is it?
When I say this name for a brand, half of you probably never heard of it, and the other half of you probably have already heard the brand name, Proraso. It is a small, family-owned business in Italy, even though its products are mainly marketed in Italy. Proraso is often found in barbershops in Italy, so not everyone would know or have heard of Proraso, but now that you’ve read this, you all do. Proraso specializes in shaving and cutting products, which is why it’s often found in barbershops. Proraso Shaving Cream is the product I will be reviewing here.
Proraso offers a range of products for purchase, including their original (regular) shaving cream (green), a sensitive skin formula (white), a Moisturizing and Nourishing Formula (maroon), and a Protective and Moisturizing Formula (blue). Speaking of many other products, Proraso also has aftershave balms, pre-shave conditioning cream, post-shave stone, and more. Although they are aimed at men, anyone can use them and should use them for our shavings, whether it be our facial hair, armpits, legs, or other areas. For me, it is specifically for my facial hair. As for me, I have tried their original one and their sensitive skin one as well. When I tried the original one, I was in awe because the cream is very smooth and leathery, which is just what shaving cream should be! The cream is somewhat thick and leathery, which is what we want our shaving cream to feel or look like, but what was unexpected was its texture. When I put cream on my face, I started shaving my facial sides; as you know, I only support long goatees, and I was caught off guard, realizing that it has that good burn feeling to it. I immediately wondered why it did that, and I realized that the Proraso original shaving cream is menthol. No, not as intense as Icy Hot, but it has a cooling effect, and you can smell a slight whiff of menthol. However, once you put it on your skin, you’ll start smelling menthol even more, which is terrific. I think. Ever since then, I have said yes! Where has this shaving cream been in my life? Because it’s that good, and after I finish shaving, my skin feels incredibly smooth.
After buying the Proraso shaving cream for the first time, when I was almost out, my first thought was that I must get another one of Proraso’s products, and I didn’t even consider any other brands, such as the giant Gillette or even Harry’s. This shaving cream also protected my skin very well when I was shaving; I could barely feel the razor cutting the hair on my face, which is a testament to the cream’s protective properties. To find good shaving cream, consider a few key factors, such as the cream’s protective properties for shaving, to minimize the risk of razor burn or nicks. I think that Proraso shaving cream offers the best protection and the best sensation, thanks to its menthol content. Although menthol can only be found in the original, the rest of the Proraso products are just as good as the original one, including the one for sensitive skin (white), which I have already used. From other brands I have used, I would take a handful of shaving cream in my palm and apply it to my face to prepare for shaving. Still, with Proraso, I only need maybe a size of a dime, which covers a lot already, so that also tells me that I get a lot more out of it at a slower pace than I would get from other brands such as Gilette that I have been using for pretty much since the day I started shaving which was more than two decades ago. All you need to do with this Proraso, as there are many ways such as using a brush, but for me, I squeeze out about a dime size and then put two or so drips of water and mix it within’ my palm to leather it then put it on my face or just wet my face then squeeze a size of a dime then apply it on my damp face.
If you try this shaving cream, you will not want to go back to any other brands, as it is outright amazing. After trying their product for the first time, it has become my favorite and my only go-to for shaving cream. I highly recommend this shaving cream; their products specialize in shaving, so it’s no wonder they’re great. I highly recommend their products, especially their original Proraso shaving cream and their sensitive skin shaving cream, for anyone with sensitive skin. When you try their Proraso shaving cream for the first time, if you have not already, you will be wowed at the sensation of the menthol on your skin and realize that it IS THE shaving cream you want from on forward. Proraso Shaving Cream Original has my highest recommendation for shaving cream. I am giving Proraso Shaving Cream a 4.5 rating, which translates to very great. They will become my third 4.5 rating, as I rarely provide any products with that high rating, but Proraso deserves it! So, when shopping for shaving cream, next time you’re shopping, don’t look any further than Proraso for your shaving cream!
