Ky texting baned in Jan.

When I woke up turning the television on in the bedroom, I was still laying on the bed and this news caught my attention because I usually don’t watch news but this was worth watching the news but disappointed at once. Because on WSAZ news they are stating that driving and sending text message on the cell phone in Kentucky will be banned and it will takes effect in January 1 of 2011. And if you are caught sending text message to somebody from your cell phone while you are driving on the road by polices or anyone that works with the law will fine you, for your first offense would be twenty five ($25) dollars and then afterward that for all of offense you will be charged fifty ($50) dollars. I am sure that some of you are going to disappointed but again be glad because hopefully, we would be more safe while being on the road while walking, jogging or driving. But the way I sees it that while talking on the phone, I mean calling somebody from your cell phone and driving is fine but no texting. For myself, it is disappointing because texting is very important thing to me because I am hard of hearing and I can’t speak so it’s not fair for who’s hearing impaired so I have to use internet relay service to call anyone, sort of like sending text message but while being on the internet and chat to a relay service provider agents to make call. But my opinion, I think it’s insulting because they are disallowing hearing and even hearing impaired to send text message to anybody because obviously hearing people can talk through the cell phone but I and other hearing impaired can’t and that’s what they need to know that. But again, the most important is that Kentucky wants us to stay safe so I’ll applaud for that. Since that they are going to do that, to ban text messaging while driving for everybody. That’s actually making me more concern about if it’s ok for hearing impaired to pull over to use the relay service to call somebody (just like sending text) or to be able to send text message to people for emergency, for example to making sure a member of family is okay or to get the direction from somebody, or even to call 911 by using the relay service for hearing impaired. Banning text messaging while driving will also prevent the hearing impaired to call 911 if something are going to happen in heavy traffic or there is no space enough to turn over and park especially over on the four lane in some counties. Sure I am complaining about that but at same time I am glad that we are going to be more safe, hopefully. If you want to read the news on WSAZ regarding to banning text message while driving that will takes in effects on Jan 1st of 2011 then click here and read the news over at WSAZ.

Anyway. With all of snowing and ice that are going around in Kentucky and all of other every states, stay safe and be sure to only drive when you really must but until then, stay home and stay warm as well! And also, have a great holiday from myself, Joshie of the JoshiesWorld.com!
