Opinion on Anne E. Geers’s Research

Okay, where do I start here? Please note that this is my opinion and over 70 million people in the Deaf community are welcome to share their opinion on this subject as well.

I strongly believe that the research done by Anne E. Geers may be biased or improperly researched. In her article, it stated that she studied a different three groups where one of them would have newborn to learn sign language early on, one with cochlear implantation while learning spoken language such as English and one with cochlear implantation learning sign language. In her research, she stated that the group where the newborn who had cochlear implanted and learnt spoken language could speak more clear and better reading than the other two groups. I must ask, did Anna E. Geers herself handpicked the sign language teacher to teach the child sign language? And what exactly did she mean “sign language”? Doesn’t she realize that all other sign language modes besides American Sign Language has proved to be fail and that American Sign Language has proved to be successful for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing child? Another question, wasn’t she aware of bilingual-bicultural education? The fact that American Sign Language is a visual language, a recognized language at that and it is vital that the Deaf children to learn early on in their toddler age to help the child to understand communication itself so that the child can effectively learn written English through bilingual-bicultural education (American Sign Language and English). So, her “research” on early sign language (what sign language?) exposure and cochlear implantation benefits is much as fail as any. Not only that, cochlear implants does not help anyone to understand word by word because all it does is it gives them a sound and all they are for is to help them to aware their surrounding but not what people says. Her research can do more harm to little human beings and cannot be used anywhere except it can be perceived as Anne E. Geer’s opinion only.

Why I Blog

I see a lot of the people starts off with a trend of Why I _____ and I figured that I will do one for blog. People have already started a few trends of “Why I” such as “WhyIVlog”, “WhyISign” and others. To my knowledge, I may be wrong and if I am wrong then please correct me by leaving a comment below here so I can make a correction note on here. That the “Why I” was originally started by the Deaf community with #WhyISign where anyone who knows American Sign Language and breath in American Sign Language to make a short videos to share why they sign. You can find #WhyISign on Twitter and Facebook if you are interested in see some responses from the people who shares their reason to why they use American Sign Language. So I am going to do one for the blog and this is #WhyIBlog! Hope that all of you enjoy reading some of my reasons to why I blog and I encourage that all of you bloggers to do the same by making a post on your blog with the title “Why I Blog” then use the hashtag on social media #WhyIBlog so that all of bloggers can read some responses from the blogosphere via social media like Twitter or Facebook.

YouTubers Are Audism?!

Who doesn’t use YouTube in their daily lives to watch some latest videos of their favorite YouTubers and watch some old videos on YouTube that they have watched them before or they are YouTubers who have their own channels that they uploads videos on regular basis to earn money?! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t use YouTube whether that they are just using YouTube to watch some videos or some have their own YouTube channels that they upload videos on regular basis to earn some money if they are partnered YouTubers. YouTube have over a billion users with mix of watchers and YouTubers, everyday users watch hundreds of millions of hours on YouTube and generate billions of views which is unbelievable. So that gives you an idea of how many people who watches videos on YouTube uploaded by YouTubers and these top ten YouTubers who generates millions of views each day, each videos they have uploaded to YouTube which earns them millions to billions annually. I am myself partnered YouTuber but I am not even close to being the top ten YouTubers, I am practically the bottom partnered YouTubers and a few reasons for that but I will talk about that later. Now what they don’t realize is that these over a billion users or millions viewers that the top YouTubers watches some of the top YouTubers videos is NOT one type of audience as there are a few different types of viewers or subscribers that they have. What I am saying is that the top YouTubers need to realize that some of their subscribers who is Deaf, Hard of Hearing or blind audiences.

FaceBook’s Video Comment.

I am the one, I am sure there are many of others too who pressed Mark Zuckerberg to add video function to the comment for the FaceBook because before I started pressing Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of FaceBook it only has pictures function where you could upload pictures in the comment but not video and I decided to send a message to CEO of FaceBook Mark Zuckerberg that I suggest for him to add the video option along with the picture in the comment function because I have seen where several Deaf or Hard of Hearing people have complained about not being able to respond to anyone’s post with a vlog in American Sign Language so I suggested that Mark Zuckerberg to add the video function to the comment section instead of just only the photo function in the comment. This was not only one message as I have sent Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg on regular basis to remind him that he need to add video function to the comment because so that it would allow us Deaf community to be able to respond our family members or our friends wall post with vlog and that we can respond using our language American Sign Language instead of text comment. I also have explained FaceBook CEO Mark Zuckerberg saying that we Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals are known to not fluent in writing English as it is not our first language as American Sign Language is our first language so this is why that we ask for the FaceBook to acknowledge that and to accept my suggestion by adding the video function for the comment on FaceBook so for once of all that we can finally respond using our native language American Sign Language instead of having to type a language that isn’t our native language which is English.
