To whom this may concern at Snapchat, This is Joshua “Joshie” Sullivan, an owner of JoshiesWorld since August 7, 2007. I am writing an open/public letter to Snapchat, also known as Snapchat Inc. For over a decade, I have been dealing with Snapchat’s stubborn refusal to hand over the username JoshiesWorld to me, as I have been the rightful owner of JoshiesWorld since August 7, 2007. I am still very disappointed with Snapchat, and I am getting tired of their repeated excuse that when it comes to usernames, it’s first-come, first-served. It’s understandable if the name doesn’t belong to anyone, but not when it’s already owned by someone else. I’ve sent all kinds of documents proving my ownership of JoshiesWorld since August 7, 2007. The person who registered under my identity brand name hasn’t been active for over a decade. Snapchat needs to do the right thing, and it makes no sense that Snapchat keeps an inactive registered name over the rightful owner who would be more active. Additionally, they would receive more business from my use than from an inactive user. Even though I do have a Snapchat account, which is TheJoshiesWorld, I registered that name, which was meant to be temporary, until Snapchat hands over the name JoshiesWorld to me as the rightful owner by changing my temporary…
Happy Juneteenth National Independence Day, one of the most important days in the history of the United States of America. If you wonder what Juneteenth is about, it’s a day on June 19, 1865, when freedom began for the Black community as the United States of America ended slavery. Even though President Abraham Lincoln ordered the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863 to end the slavery of African-Americans, not everyone agreed with that or did not get the order until later due to slow delivery and on that day June 19th, 1865, the United States Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in the state of Texas at the end of American civil war. On June 19, 1865, the black community was freed in every state. Even though slavery ended, there were some people, including some politicians, who tried to find every way to restrict their freedoms, such as Jim Crow laws, which segregated colored people from having the same access to things that white people had. Such as segregation in education, public services, businesses, restaurants, and others. Although it was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson with the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it had initially passed through the United States House and the United States Senate with bipartisan…
For a while, I have been writing articles on a single topic, but this time, I will write a multiple-topic, obvious article. Hence, the title is MultiTopic because I want to write about several topics. I have a list of topics I continue to add to, and it’s getting a bit too long for my taste, so I need to consolidate some of them in one article to clean up my list. Additionally, I don’t want the topics on my list to become too dated. As always, I hope you enjoy at least one of the topics covered in this article. If you’d like to discuss a specific topic further, please leave a comment below. Ad Blocker Harms Content Creators Having ads on our websites, articles, videos, and other content generates revenue, allowing us to cover our bills, food, equipment, and other expenses. For example, my bills, which include several domains, cover the server and maintenance for all my websites, including JoshiesWorld’s website, equipment, and other expenses, amounting to thousands of dollars almost monthly. Many of us, including myself, do not want to charge anyone to access our content, as some do. In exchange, we run ads, allowing us to pay for the creation or publication of our content for you all at no cost. Think of it as sponsors,…
Not too long ago, President Donald J. Trump removed the accessibility from the white house’s website, which President Donald J. Trump’s administration manages. Doing this caused many Deaf people and as well disabled people, such as people who are blind, to feel oppressed by their own President, which in this case is President Donald J. Trump. Not only has President Trump removed the accessibility from his white house’s website, but there is something big amiss that many of us have noticed, especially those who are in the Deaf community and that is not getting any information of any kind from President Trump or his press secretary with American Sign Language interpreter which is unacceptable. When it comes to Donald Trump, this didn’t happen the first time because it happened during his first term as the United States President until we, along with the National Association of the Deaf, filed a lawsuit against President Trump’s administration for not providing us Deaf people the accessibility to any information that President Trump, his team, his press, and his administration delivers. This is a repeat, as it’s happening in his second term. Any time that President Trump’s administration shares information of any kind, they mustn’t be only accessible to hearing people with audio but also that they are accessible to Deaf people with American…
I want to take the time to publish a public letter to address what Charlie Kirk said on his show, The Charlie Kirk Show, on Real America’s Voice channel. He said that having American Sign Language interpreters on television is a distraction, which has caused many Republicans and Trump supporters to be negative about it. Before I start, I will share a video and a screenshot of an example of what Charlie Kirk caused a ramification. Everyone is entitled to their opinions; however, sometimes there are right and wrong opinions. Unfortunately, Charlie Kirk’s opinion is very wrong, while at the same time giving the Republicans, Trump supporters, and others the ammo to be offensive about it, which is oppressive. I have shown an example in the screenshot that I posted above of someone like Christopher F. Rufo, Miranda Devine, Tony Martin, and others speaking negatively about a real language (read about American Sign Language is a real language) that the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community use as their primary/native language, which is American Sign Language. In Charlie Kirk’s Show, he said that having sign language interpreters on the television is a distraction. That closed caption is good enough. Not many Deaf people have the opportunity to learn English like Charlie Kirk speaks in his show, a language that does…
