Danville Police killed a Deaf Kentuckian

A 29-year-old Deaf person named Cody Wayne Downey of Russell Springs, from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, was shot dead by the police in Danville, Kentucky, about a couple of weeks ago, on January 11th, 2026, at Center Estates Apartments, where he resided. According to the Danville police, Danville dispatch received a 911 emergency call around 9:30 PM on January 11th, and the caller reported that there was a man who was attempting to commit suicide with a knife at Center Estates Apartments. According to the caller who made the 911 call to the Danville dispatch, the man was claiming to be harming himself, sending some pictures of his injuries to that caller through social media. The news is saying that the officers in Danville, Ky, went to his apartment for a welfare/safety check, and the police breached his apartment’s door, stating that the reason for doing so was to provide aid. The police say they have made contact with Cody Downey from outside of his apartment, and repeatedly commanded Cody Downey to drop the knife. The police said that Cody Downey came out of his apartment with a knife, and running toward Danville officers, he knocked one of them to the ground. One of the Danville officers grabbed his gun and then shot Cody Downey in the chest up close.…

The toxic in the National Association of the Deaf, and it’s time to cleanse them

The National Association of the Deaf has met one of the wishes of the Deaf community: to terminate or resign the National Association of the Deaf’s president, Lisa Rose. After many days of refusing to resign, and finding every ways to block the board members of the National Association of the Deaf from calling a special meeting to have President Lisa Rose terminated by making sure that the secretary and treasury positions vacated so that the meeting cannot proceed finally submitted her resignation which was then obviously accepted by the board members at an important conference (national leadership training conference) in Austin, Texas, that was cancelled by the interim CEO which that resulted in angering many Deaf people especially the ones who already have brought airflight ticket, booked hotel room, and whatnot which most of them couldn’t get a refund since many of them couldn’t afford the flight ticket’s insurance. By having the option to get a refund from the airline for a reason like this, you would need to add insurance to your flight ticket, and that would incur extra fees. Think of it like an airline warranty. Many Deaf members of the National Association of the Deaf have decided to take matters into their own hands by proceeding with the conference under a different name, the Deaf Collab…

A Deaf and disabled content creator, JoshiesWorld, is asking for your help!

Hey everybody! I am asking for your help, if you don’t mind. I would be incredibly grateful if you would follow JoshiesWorld on any social media platforms. In the post below, you will find a list of JoshiesWorld’s social media channels and accounts to follow. The most important ones are Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Many businesses prefer Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. As a Deaf and disabled content creator, it is incredibly challenging to gain followers and even more difficult to secure opportunities from businesses seeking content creators to collaborate with or to send products for review. Businesses, corporations, organizations, services, agencies, and the like are actively seeking content creators with a large following. It means that these content creators influence their audience to consider their products, whether through positive or negative reviews, because they focus on advertising their products or services to their followers. Some content creators can gain millions of followers within a year or so, while others, such as Deaf and/or disabled content creators, have been around for years or even over a decade and still have very small followings. I am one of many examples of this. JoshiesWorld has been around since 2007, meaning it has been in operation for over 18 years —nearly two decades. I have about 200 followers on most of my social media…

Deaf Content Creators

Here is a list of Deaf and hard-of-hearing content creators. Since I am aware of no existing list of Deaf or hard-of-hearing content creators, I decided to create one using JoshiesWorld. JoshiesWorld’s website receives several thousand viewers daily, so these Deaf and hard-of-hearing content creators can gain more recognition. This list is not exhaustive and will be updated periodically as I identify additional items. If you are a Deaf or hard-of-hearing content creator and didn’t see your name on the list below, please let me know so I can add you. If you aren’t a Deaf/HOH content creator but know someone who is, please let me know by leaving a comment below or emailing me. If you are on the list but want to be removed from it or would like to update, correct, or add a personal website or a link to your social media list (a page on your website that has a list of your social media, an example like mine here), please let me know, and I will do so. I need your website address (personal, blog, online diary, a website that represents you, online biography, your photography/artist/author/writer website, creator/influencer website, etc., not commercial, an online shop, etc.), Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and a link to your social media accounts list. Please Donate To Support This…
