Pokemon Festival in Williamson, Wv.

There is news by none other than Williamson Daily News have announced that the city of Williamson with the approval of the Mayor Calton will be throwing a festival on August, 20th Saturday from 6PM to 10:30PM calling it “Williamson Poke Fest 2016” for everyone who loves playing Pokemon Go game app on iOS or Android devices and that in the city of Williamson will be themed with Pokemon. Tonya Webb brought up the proposal with the idea of Pokemon theme to the mayor of the city Williamson in West Virginia along with the convention and Visitors Bureau so they then came up with the name for the festival calling it “Williamson Poke Fest 2016” which is a good slogan. Everybody is on board with that idea including the resides of Williamson, Wv along with the officials to have Williamson Poke Fest 2016 in Williamson town themed none other than Pokemon because since the launch of Pokemon Go game app several people have come to Williamson town daily just to play Pokemon Go because there is five designated PokeStops where anyone goes to get free items for every five minutes such as Pokemon balls, eggs and more. As for the festival, there will not only be just the people playing the Pokemon Go app to hunt some awesome Pokemon as…

Chris Wagner, NAD President to Resign.

Some of you know about the heated protest going on around against the Deaf institution called Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania due to oppression in the Deaf community by the administration of the Deaf institution Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) and for some of you don’t know anything about the situation over at the Deaf institution Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf protests started by the Deaf community especially their students and their alumni in particulars you can read an article I written last week under the title “WPSD Oppression” or you can click here to read the article which I suggest that you do if you don’t know anything about the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf protests because they will be related to this article otherwise you won’t get the entire idea of what is going on with Chris Wagner. Chris Wagner is National Association of the Deaf (NAD) president who have few responsibilities which that includes to advocate for Deaf individuals in both human and civil rights especially to make sure that they are not being discriminated and represents the Deaf community hence National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is the association “of” not “for” the Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals. Ever since Chris Wagner were elected for presidency position in…

WPSD Oppression.

Some of you may know or some of you may not know but in the recent news for the Deaf community is that there is a protest going on against Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania because some of the students and some alumni have come out in the public saying that the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) oppresses the students or anyone else who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing but in general the Deaf community’s natural language American Sign Language (ASL). Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) is one of few institutions for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing people, Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is considered the third institution type of school for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people where it offers all levels of education such as Grade, Middle and High school in one place for anyone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The students along with the alumni who graduated from Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) are very angry with the administrations because they says that they were treated poorly from the administration from WPSD but that isn’t the only problem that the students or alumni have with the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) they also have a problem with…

Exploiting Deaf’s Language.

I don’t know if you have heard of a couple of people who is Tina and Paul Sirimacro who are known for SignALong all over on the internet where they would interpret some of the songs using American Sign Language, a language used by the deaf and hard of hearing. They have a few of videos on YouTube that translate the lyrics of songs into American Sign Language to entertain the deaf community which is a great thing because it helps the deaf or hard of hearing people to know the lyrics in some of the songs that they like because they obviously can’t hear music but they can feel the music by vibration especially from subwoofer so being deaf or hard of hearing doesn’t mean that they can’t enjoy some music to dance. While it is a great thing to help the deaf community by offering some of the songs in American Sign Language by Tina and Paul Sirimacro but at same time they are hurting the deaf community more than they ever will know because the only reason that they are doing the songs with American Sign Language is to get the money to pay for their wedding. They are exploiting the deaf community/culture’s language at their benefit which that has upset thousands people in the deaf community,…

Deaf Community, text-to-911 is here.

I believe that this news is going to be very exciting for the people especially in the deaf community who is deaf or hard of hearing because everyday they struggles to have access to some services that everyone has except the people who is deaf or hard of hearing that requires voice or to listen. The most of the problem in deaf community would be communication barriers which is obvious because they use sign language (American Sign Language/ASL) to communicate and most of the people who is hearing don’t know their language to be able to communicate with the people who is deaf or hard of hearing, when they are at some important events by law they are required to provide the interpreter to the people who is deaf or hard of hearing so that each others can communicate. Now it is impossible for anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing to use the phone to make a phone call because they are not able to hear so if they ever need medical attention or is in danger of something and they won’t be able to get some help by calling the emergency center using the number of 911, that is the problem and unfair to them because hearing people can call 911 when they need medical attention or need…
