Police Doesn’t Protect Deaf, Instead Harms Deaf

You would think that the law enforcement are hard on the colored people, abuse their power against them and did several police brutality on them but what many people does not realize is that they are not the only one. Law Enforcement gives Deaf and Hard of Hearing people a very hard time as there are several stories about their experiences when they had confrontation with the police. One of several experiences, there were a Deaf woman who called police for immediate help because she was being beaten by her boyfriend or husband so once the police arrived at their residence and the Deaf woman were approached by the police where she would be supposedly to explain the situation about her husband or her boyfriend beat her to the plum but instead the police never took the time to hear her explanation so they tasered her then body slams her to the ground with their knees on the back of her body and cuffed her then books her to the jail while the husband or boyfriend who can hear were scoot-free. So imagine the horror as if you were in her shoes, the police never even questioned that man or even to let the woman to tell them what was going on or the reason for their call to the police station so they immediately arrested a victim and booked her there without an interpreter to read her rights which is illegal under American with Disabilities Act 1990. Didn’t even bother asking that man about the situation or anything, as they just tasered her, arrested her then put her in the back of the car and left while that man get to chill at her house with a jail-free card given by the police. How can they do that?

Language Deprivation.

Language is a very important tool for communication otherwise we as human beings would not have a way to communicate with each others, pardon me I am actually wrong because as I wrote that I just realized that the human beings can communicate with each others using gestures or by visual but still a language is what makes it easier for us human beings to communicate with each others and thankfully there is a very long list of languages that allows us human beings to communicate with each others. Each language is in within’ our DNA, in other words our native language that we inherited from the earlier generations or the first language that we learned after the birth so that we can be able to communicate with our parents or to kickstart our education because without language then how are we able to learn? The language is very essential in our life, the language that we comfortably understand and communicate smoothly with others. Now there are a very large group, some organizations and even corporations always set out to make sure that we communicate using their language preference such as English here in the United States therefore they are on the look to deprive our native language by trying their darndest best to convince many of us human beings that their language preference will make us more successful in a long run than our own native language that we inherited from the many generations of our families or to try to come up with false medical information such as saying that using our own native language over their language preference will cause us to have a brain cancer or similar (it’s true, Starkey Foundation is one perfect example of that).

System Fails Deaf For Many Years.

The system created by the federal, governments and some of rich people never suits the Deaf individuals for several decades as the system were created for some of the people here in the United States to help some elite groups such as the individuals who does not care for anyone else but themselves while taking the pocketful of money from that system without leaving anything over for the rest of other groups to take through jobs. That is mostly the reason that the system is very harsh to where that it doesn’t allow any groups like Deaf community, Seniors Citizens or other disabilities to be able to find any opportunity such as a job that is suits for them with a skill of whatever it is they are good at. The system that is created by some elite groups made it very hard for any individuals who happens to be Deaf, Senior Citizen or others to have a chance at being able to be accepted to work for a large corporation, governments level or federal level so in many people’s views that just because we have one or more disabilities or that we are at old age means we are unable to work but in reality is by their views of us is what they made us out to be. That is one among others are how the system is built as they made it a system that prevents some groups, Deaf community in particular to work twice or three hard as the elite groups or in other words high-class people when it comes to trying to get a job at somewhere that are in need of a set skills that they have which that is why it’s almost too easy for anyone to get in the career they want while the Deaf community have to work twice or three times harder to get in a career that they want.

National Association of the Deaf (NAD).

For several months I have begun to support an association or organization who represents Deaf and Hard of Hearing people nationally here in the united states until recently as I have realized something going with the association that sickens me especially to think that for few months I was supporting something that I thought who truly represents the Deaf community. That organization I am speaking of is National Association of the Deaf (NAD) who is an alliance of the Deaf community, who is responsible to advocate for the Deaf community when it comes to oppression, discrimination or any of unlawful actions by somebody and they are supposedly to be in the front of the battle making sure that the Deaf individuals have equality since National Association of the Deaf (NAD) founded in 1880 to take activism action in Milan against an organization named International Congress on the Education of the Deaf or ICED for short when International Congress on the Education of the Deaf (ICED) discouraged the use of American Sign Language in the education of the Deaf which is the natural language for the Deaf individuals. By discouraging the use of American Sign Language for the Deaf students by forcing the Deaf students in education to not use their natural language of American Sign Language, if they are caught using American Sign Language they would be punished by either having their hands slapped or tying their hands to their back and forcing them to use oral only instead so the many Deaf individuals group were against that so National Association of the Deaf (NAD) was born.

Tidbits 12/4/2015.

Since from the last article I wrote on here titled “Happy Thanksgiving” the other day, on day of Thanksgiving so I can safely assume that every one of you had a great thanksgiving? Mine was great although I don’t really celebrate thanksgiving as much as I would used to several years ago which I have mentioned my reasons in that blogs post. For today’s blog post I will be writing tidbits which I know I have not written tidbits article in a great while and I believe that the last time I wrote tidbits article was in September so it has been a while. I believe it is due for me to write the tidbits once again since I know some of you love reading tidbits since almost every tidbits I wrote received the most views than the other articles I wrote. In case if you are new reader here, to get a better understanding what exactly tidbits are about I suggest that you search some tidbit articles on here which you can do so by typing the word “tidbits” in the search box at the top of the website then it will bring you a list of tidbit articles for you to read and know that tidbits article can be a very long to read because tidbit involves several topics in one place and not just a topic for each article to read so be prepared for when this tidbits article to be long but sometimes it can be short too as it depends on how many topics are involved in the article.

SuddenLink Violated Deaf Rights!

SuddenLink LogoFirst of all I would like to say hello to every one of you out there, I wonder if I am the only one that is in the middle of huge storms which is here in the state of Kentucky in United States of America? If I am then I am glad that some of you aren’t experiencing being in the middle of insane storms that is brewing around along with a high possibility of flooding here in this area that I live in which is sometimes prone to flooding because where I lives there is a river that is often flooded when a huge storm with heavy rainfall hits here. While sitting inside my home feeling the huge of constant booms by heavy thunderstorms, I was going through a few of things here on the internet and I stumbled upon something that is very shocking to me but not only myself as I am sure that it also shocks several people who is Deaf or Hard Of Hearing. If you ask me if by saying shocking I mean as in a good way or bad way? My answer is in very terribly bad way to where that no Deaf or Hard Of Hearing just cannot sees it with their own eyes including my own eyes. A large local company flatly violated every Deaf or Hard Of Hearing customers of theirs civil rights even without our knowledge that we didn’t know that they violated Deaf or Hard Of Hearing rights until we had to see them ourselves.
