Easter Day – How Easter started.

Easter Day ImageToday is Easter day as most of you noticed and is celebrating it today for more than one reasons celebrating the Easter day with your family and your friends by giving them some candies and maybe some presents, and then do some eggs hunting with your family and friends that is always fun thing to do and the other reason which is the most important is to celebrate the day of Jesus Christ resurrection when three days ago Jesus Christ was on the cross dying for us and our sins and buried Jesus Christ in the tomb and three days later which is today somebody went over to the tomb to pay respect for Jesus Christ but when they arrived there they noticed that the white robe were laying on the stone inside the tomb but no body in it because Jesus Christ resurrected. Also today is a good day for Christians to go to church and celebrate that specific reason, I used to go to church every Easter day but I stopped because I broken my femur in the leg and this limits my walking.

Yesterday I was talking to my mother about the Easter day by asking if she has any idea how did Easter day started? And also what does eggs have to do with Bunny because Bunny don’t gives eggs as only animals that do is some of the birds such as chicken, rooster and among others. That was interesting question that I thought of it myself to ask my mother to see if she knows what egg has to do with bunny.

Here is the research that I have found to answer my question that I had for my mother yesterday which is interesting because Bunny do not lay eggs that I mentioned earlier in this post:

Rabbits and eggs are both symbols of fertility and new life. Like Christmas, Easter is a pagan holiday in its origins, originally celebrating the new life of spring after a long dark winter. The word Easter is derived from the name of the fertility goddess Ashtoreth/Ishtar. Traditional Easter celebrations in the US have very little to do with the Christian belief in the resurrection of Christ. Many old religions had the tradition of the God/a God returning from death in the spring, however, so you can see where there is a kind of connection.

For anyone that wonders where/how Easter day originated from which you can find some in Bible and some by researching it on the internet and they have several interesting answers but some are wrong and some is correct as it depends on some beliefs but what is the fact is that Easter day is decided and originated by Christians hence Jesus Christ resurrection that rose from the death on the stone from inside the tomb and left nothing but his white robe and flowers that he was surrounded with while his body gone.

The Easter day or Easter Sunday was originally a pagan holiday to celebrate the first day of spring and give thanks to the Goddess of Spring (Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring), the name itself (Easter) coming from the Goddess’ name Eastre which was celebrated on the day of the vernal equinox. The Goddess lived on in the Easter Bunny that we use today, which is a sign of fertility. The brightly colored eggs are painted so to represent the spring sun.

Easter day holiday dates back to ancient times and Christians barrowed the idea from the pagan holiday that commemorates the resurrection of “Tammuz” who was killed by a wild boar (it is believed he was resurrected by the tears of his mother). This can be likened to the death, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. The believers of these actions started the Easter holidays, so beings of Easter Day (or supposedly Easter Sunday Day).

Before wrapping this up I would like to tell you Happy Easter day to every one of you and to your family, be sure to spend all the time you can get with your family because it is important as every family should be spending the time with each others on every holidays regardless what holiday it is and I hope that all of you have fun today especially if you all are hunting eggs with your family, children hunting eggs is always adorable and be sure to take some photos of them! I hope you have a great day and be safe, please keep checking back here to see if I am writing some more new articles for today which I should be hopefully as I have a plan that I would write at least one or two more before the day is over but it does depends on if I ever think of something because often my mind is blank and I hope that it doesn’t happen to me today. 🙂
