I Support Net Neutrality

I see that a lot of people in my circle, this including both hearie community and deaf community are very concerned about Federal Communications Commission’s decision on repealing Net Neutrality. I am very glad that a lot of concerns going around because Net Neutrality is a serious matter for many of us, however I also seen many people who are either confused or misleading some others about what Net Neutrality is all about and what impact that it can do if Net Neutrality were to be repealed. First, Net Neutrality is not a law as some people seems to think they are and Net Neutrality is a policy made by Federal Communications Commission which is a federal agency that were founded by government to be the policymakers for the telecommunications. Federal government has several agencies to regulate some things, such as Federal Communications Commission were created by government to regulate television cable, radio, internet, wire, satellite and anything else that has to do with airwaves through the likes of satellites in space as they are what allows us to connect to some things through the airwaves such as internet (including cellular data), radio, television cable or others. Just like Health and Human Services is one of federal government’s agency to regulate healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid and anything else that has to do with our health or our wellbeing. So, you get the idea of Federal Communications Commission now and what authority or power they have which can be in a way good thing to limit the limitless power of the government under one roof to regulate everything – although they can but once they did they would have to go to these agencies to regulate them. Most of these agencies are meant to be independent but unfortunately, they assign anyone who has the same political party as the President or most of both senates and house.

No long time see you since I last wrote an article, on fourth (4th) of this month November! But I am back to write another article, snippets article once again and I have a couple of topics that I would like to share my thoughts on. Before I go ahead with this article, I must ask how all of you are and how was your Thanksgiving yesterday?! Did you have a great feast?! Thanksgiving holiday always give us people a good excuse to stuff our stomach with a lot of foods because usually on Thanksgiving we get to have all kinds of foods that we only see once a year especially in numbers of foods that is being served and a great excuse for some people to take a power nap because turkey always makes us sleepy after stuffing our faces with it. Thanksgiving is not only an excuse for a feast but also a good excuse for family and friend’s gatherings especially in numbers as well – we had over 14 people under our roof yesterday for Thanksgiving which broke the record of how many people we had for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, they weren’t mine and my mother’s family as they were Chad’s family; Chad is my mother’s boyfriend for close to twenty years. Mine and my mother’s family are no longer here with us as they have passed away so only family that carried on is both of us which is great because we still have each other so that is what I am very thankful for.

Take A Knee During the National Anthem in Sports

Lately we have seen a lot of the players in sports, especially the National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association decided to take a knee or locking arms with others. They were shown on television and as well in the media, there are two divided groups who support the decision of the players to take a knee or to lock arms and who are against the decision of the players taking a knee or lock arms with others. Players, coaches and even owners would decide either to take a knee or to lock arms with others while the National Anthem plays or sings by certain singers which they traditionally do so before the game starts. From the beginning, it was Colin Kaepernick as a quarterback at San Francisco 49ers last year where he decided to sit on the bench during the National Anthem in protest, as the media immediately noticed that and the next game Colin Kaepernick decided to take a knee instead of sitting on the bench like he did in the beginning but this time a few of his teammates joined the protest by taking a knee with Colin Kaepernick. This was last year, that protest were criticized heavily by some of the people and since then Colin Kaepernick have taken a knee during the National Anthem almost the entire of his 2016 season before he decided to opt out of his contract with San Francisco 49ers to test out the market to see if there are other NFL teams who would be interest in obtaining him to be their quarterback but unfortunately it was at the wrong time because almost every NFL teams didn’t need a starting quarterback which is what Colin Kaepernick looks for. Not only that, I am sure that maybe there are a couple of NFL teams who would be interested to obtain Colin Kaepernick but feared the attention that Colin Kaepernick may bring if they were to sign him since the National Anthem protest.

No long time see here! I know I haven’t written an article for the blog or any blogs for that matter and I apologize for keeping many of you in the dark waiting for a new article from me. How are you all guys and women? I hope that all of you are doing well, any of you who were affected by hurricanes whether it be Harvey, Irma, Jose and now Maria I hope that all of you are safe! Hurricanes are no fun, it is one of the most powerful weapon harnessed by the mother’s nature who had attacked several islands and mainland of the United States such as Texas or Florida. Now the Hurricane Maria recently attacked Puerto Rico and a few of islands around which have caused catastrophic for these people as they have lost hundreds of homes and most of the islands have no electricity. My heart goes out to you all who were hit by the hurricanes and for these who are in path of the Hurricane Maria please be safe! I am doing A-Okay myself because we have lost one of our beloved family members on September 10th this year, we weren’t expected of this at all as it happened in blink of an eye and that is why I didn’t feel like writing an article or to do anything for a couple of weeks as I am grieving due to the loss of my beloved. I truly appreciate all the emails, messages from some social media, comments on my personal Facebook account which is only privatized for family and friends. Not only that I also made a post on my public Facebook page about this, received a lot of responses from the people as well which I greatly appreciated for that along with some on Twitter and I am overwhelmed by amazing responses that I have gotten from you all! These kindly messages that I have gotten from you eased a bit of the stress that I had especially on that day when it had happened and a few days after.

Victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas

My thoughts are with you all, I know I have wished you all well on social media several days ago but I feel that I want to maximize my areas in reaching out to the people especially who are victims by one of the worst hurricane named Harvey by writing this article for both of my blog on here and over at JoshuaBSullivan.com. I have some people who reads my message on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Google plus and others but my blog has the most readers than these so this is the reason I feel the need to do this so to make sure that my wish and my thoughts are received by everyone that I have. I have looked at horror pictures and videos all over of the hurricane Harvey that hit the people of Texas in several cities. The hurricane Harvey did not defeat you of these people who is victims of Harvey, you stand still bravely through the Hurricane Harvey and survived by defeating one of the worst hurricanes in the United States. Yes, unfortunately there are numbers of people who’s the hurricane Harvey took lives and my heart ache for the families of these people whose life were taken by the Harvey. I have already donated funds to some organizations including Texas Association of the Deaf who is responsible to make sure that the deaf and hard of hearing people who were affected by the hurricane Harvey to have some relief as there are many of them who lives in a couple of the cities that the Harvey hits the hardest. If you have some money that you are looking for someone or an organization to donate please look below for the links where you can do so which they will be grateful for them even if they are just one dollar, five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars or thirty dollars because every little thing can mean a lot to them.

How are you doing today? I hope that all of you are doing very well, I am doing well myself although I have been very busy lately and I am getting a bit more excited that the summer is coming to end because if you recall in a few of articles that I have written a while back that I am a big fan of winter. Because of the snow and the cold weather if its average temperature for cold such as 20-30 degrees because if under that then it would become somewhat intolerable for me. Not only that, while I do love snow but I don’t like when they get to the point that we would be stuck for a long time or on these days when we have an appointment with the doctors of ours and whatnot but if it’s snowed in on the days that we are not needed somewhere then that is what I am all for as long as we don’t lose electricity. Did you all enjoyed your summer so far? We only have about a month before the temperature will start drops drastically especially in the last weeks of September to first week of October unless the mother’s nature isn’t ready (climate change). I know I haven’t written a snippets article since a few weeks ago, mainly because I didn’t have much of topics on my list to share my opinions on and over these weeks I have written some topics that comes to my mind slowly until I feel that I have enough of them to write a snippets article.
