No long time see you since I last wrote an article, on fourth (4th) of this month November! But I am back to write another article, snippets article once again and I have a couple of topics that I would like to share my thoughts on. Before I go ahead with this article, I must ask how all of you are and how was your Thanksgiving yesterday?! Did you have a great feast?! Thanksgiving holiday always give us people a good excuse to stuff our stomach with a lot of foods because usually on Thanksgiving we get to have all kinds of foods that we only see once a year especially in numbers of foods that is being served and a great excuse for some people to take a power nap because turkey always makes us sleepy after stuffing our faces with it. Thanksgiving is not only an excuse for a feast but also a good excuse for family and friend’s gatherings especially in numbers as well – we had over 14 people under our roof yesterday for Thanksgiving which broke the record of how many people we had for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, they weren’t mine and my mother’s family as they were Chad’s family; Chad is my mother’s boyfriend for close to twenty years. Mine and my mother’s family are no longer here with us as they have passed away so only family that carried on is both of us which is great because we still have each other so that is what I am very thankful for.

Hey you all! I know I haven’t blogged anything in a very long time, the last time I blogged was last month on 28th in September about the people takes a knee in sports along with my opinion on it and you can find it here. I noticed that I am not as motivated to blog this year and last year as well since in the end of last year was when I reduced my activity in blogging due to a few reasons. One of these reasons was that I am aging, and my body isn’t what it was used to be so it’s a bit hard on me especially with disabilities I have. The combination of severe disabilities and the aging isn’t a good thing, it is painful. I know, it’s life and all that but with disabilities or illness while aging is not fun. While I am not blogging, most of the times I am usually either watching tons of television shows on streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO and Starz so at least I am entertained. Mentally, I am doing good though and physically is what limits me in my activities now. Every time I tried to write an article, I would be already exhausted and so would be my body which can be frustrating at times, so I decided to find a method where I could at least keep writing an article because I love news or media industries – they are my passion. But now I can at least get an article going thanks to Microsoft’s OneNote, every time I found something interesting or thought of something I would open the OneNote and make a draft of different articles so that I can only write for each topics that I have on my list instead of writing the entire article on same day when my list of topics were getting too long. Definitely saved my energy, so that I wouldn’t exhaust myself while being already exhausted as much as I would if I am writing an article in one day instead of writing what I need or want for each topics then close the application as it has auto-saving feature which is a plus for me.

Take A Knee During the National Anthem in Sports

Lately we have seen a lot of the players in sports, especially the National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association decided to take a knee or locking arms with others. They were shown on television and as well in the media, there are two divided groups who support the decision of the players to take a knee or to lock arms and who are against the decision of the players taking a knee or lock arms with others. Players, coaches and even owners would decide either to take a knee or to lock arms with others while the National Anthem plays or sings by certain singers which they traditionally do so before the game starts. From the beginning, it was Colin Kaepernick as a quarterback at San Francisco 49ers last year where he decided to sit on the bench during the National Anthem in protest, as the media immediately noticed that and the next game Colin Kaepernick decided to take a knee instead of sitting on the bench like he did in the beginning but this time a few of his teammates joined the protest by taking a knee with Colin Kaepernick. This was last year, that protest were criticized heavily by some of the people and since then Colin Kaepernick have taken a knee during the National Anthem almost the entire of his 2016 season before he decided to opt out of his contract with San Francisco 49ers to test out the market to see if there are other NFL teams who would be interest in obtaining him to be their quarterback but unfortunately it was at the wrong time because almost every NFL teams didn’t need a starting quarterback which is what Colin Kaepernick looks for. Not only that, I am sure that maybe there are a couple of NFL teams who would be interested to obtain Colin Kaepernick but feared the attention that Colin Kaepernick may bring if they were to sign him since the National Anthem protest.

2-12-2017 Tidbits

I know I haven’t written a blog post for several days, more than a week now since the last blog post that I wrote were February 4th and I apologize for that. I just couldn’t find the time to write a blog post past several days, it has been time-consuming for me lately with other projects that I am working on and it is overwhelming to the point that I rarely find any time to sleep because the later I get the shorter sleep I will get. I barely find the time to keep up with the news that is going on around here in the United States and in other countries so that means I hardly had the chance to come up with some of the topics to share my opinions or my thoughts on news this past week. After the summer last year, my schedules became so messy to the point where I barely know what tasks I think I can complete and what tasks I must dismiss to complete some of other tasks especially the ones I consider more important than others. I believe that one or two blog posts earlier I have stated that I would try to write more blog posts than I have been since the summer last year, it is obvious that I have failed doing that and I will say this that I have no absolutely idea if I will be able to find the time to write blog posts on regular basis that I used to because of other projects that is taking a lot of my attention away but I will at least say this that I will try my darndest best to write a blog post once a week for the time being instead of three or four times a week that I used to. I just will have to try to figure out my schedule a bit better, this would mean that I will have to strategically figure my schedule as much as I can and hopefully I will be able to take myself back on the track to where I can at least write a blog post two or three times a week instead of once a week for the time being so I hope that you will bear with me for now until I figure something out.

Our Rights to Freedom of Speech and Expression

Your opinion does matters because it is your opinion and mine do matters too because it is my opinion. Every one of us have the right to freedom of speech and the freedom to express. That’s the beauty of democracy thanks to the founders of the America and democracy is very important for the America otherwise we would be destroying the founders vision of the America that they turned in based on democracy. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Each one of us, every one of us have the right to that and no one can ever deny our rights to that. So, everyone who is a fan of Trump being the president of the united states then be so it and who is NOT a fan of Trump being president of the United States then be so it. Let’s leave it at that, we each have the right to express our opinions whatever it is that we have on whether it be about politics, technology, business and whatnot. I see that some of the people out there who’s telling some of the others that they need to give Trump administration a chance and that they need to move on. No, they don’t have to give Trump administration a chance and they do not have to move on. Just like some of the people who wasn’t fan of Obama administration, all of them had the right to refuse that they must move on and they have every right to not give Obama administration a chance. It is very tiresome to see some of the people who thinks that they have the right to freedom of speech, freedom of expression and that the others don’t. That defy the democracy that America was created by the founders and what every one of us should be doing is at least be civil.

1-21-2017 Tidbits

I wasn’t sure if I was in mood to blog tonight or not, honestly, I haven’t been in mood for much of anything anyway and I decided that since I have nothing else to do for about an hour and half so I decided that I will use that time to blog about something. I know ever since the new year or this year in 2017 seems that I starts to lagging on blog as I usually write an article for every two days for the entire year of last year 2016 and so far, this year I have moved from one article in every two days to one article every weekend and I would like to apologize for that but I have been busy lately with the things that’s going on around here. Nothing to do with my health though, thankful for that and by being busy I mean advocating for the Affordable Care Act. I am still is and have been a vocal in Affordable Care Act especially for the state of Kentucky because Kentucky is one of few states that rely on it more than anything as most of them are people with disabilities like myself, retired coal miners and veterans or children of a parents that cannot afford the care for their child so they rely on that to get some medical assistance for their child too. Being one of several activists in the SaveACA (Save Affordable Care Act) campaign on social media, email, physical letters and whatever else the technology allows to send out a message to the government about the importance in the Affordable Care Act. Not only that, few of the Affordable Care Act advocates including myself had got some backlash from some of the people who opposes it and wish to repeal it without realizing that it’s not just for the people with disabilities but also for many of other reasons which I have included above. People with disabilities, veterans who were injured in war, retired coal miners after getting injured from coal mines as Kentucky is one of two or three states that is the home of coal, senior citizens, care for the child due to their parents not being able to afford to have any medical assistance for their child and I could go on all night but these are the keys in how it is important to not repeal Affordable Care Act. If absolutely must to repeal Affordable Care Act then if it will include expansion in Medicare, Medicaid and whatnot then for the rest of others is up to the people but all we ask is that the parts of Medicare, Medicaid and whatnot stays or expand.
