Burger King Tribute To Deaf Community!

One of fast foods chain somewhere over in the district of D.C. here in the United States decided to do something special, by doing something special which means they showed their appreciate to the Deaf community by temporarily changing the looks of the fast food restaurant itself and that is the Burger King. What did they do that shows their appreciation to the Deaf community? By changing the looks of the restaurant itself temporarily with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing’s native language American Sign Language (ASL). Although by on the social media, the Deaf community is saying that it is only for one day as there is some Deaf events that are going on down there in the district of D.C. and in my opinion I believe that Burger King should keep the way they are for at least a few days or more so a week if possible because then that would truly show that Burger King does appreciate their Deaf and Hard of Hearing customers who order their foods on regular basis. Even though it may be only for one day, they still shows that they are an alliance of the Deaf community and I am almost certain that no other fast food chain restaurants will follow the Burger King’s example by doing something similar to show that they are also an ally to the Deaf community. Like its competitor Hardee’s? McDonald’s? Or even Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Taco Bell or others? So the way that Burger King did today is truly amazing for the Deaf community especially after an attempted to smear the Deaf Community from Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing aka AG Bell which you can find my article about what AG Bell did to the Deaf community here (click here).

I wish that I were there to see the reaction’s of Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing when Burger King launched a such thing like this for the Deaf community because I am certain that their reaction is priceless especially after trying their darndest best to brain-wash several people by lying in that article when they wrote an open public letter in response to the Washington’s Post regards Nyle DiMarco and American Sign Language for the children.

Burger King

Thank you very much for willing to recognize the American Sign Language which is the native language of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals including myself as I am hard of hearing so I take pride of being in the Deaf community. Even though that you may only do this for one day but at least it is better than never doing a such thing like this that you did today and I am almost certain that no other fast food chains will follow the fine example that you have done for the Deaf community today so I heartily appreciate the public display of your support for the Deaf community. I would like to make a suggestion for you at Burger King that you would make this an annual thing, possibly in September which is the Deaf Awareness Month and instead showing your support for the Deaf community by doing like this in one location, I suggest that you would do more than one location such as the ones in the areas that have high numbers of Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations.

  • Washington, D.C.
  • Frederick, MD.
  • Austin, TX.
  • Louisville, KY.
  • Sacramento, CA.

These are just a few example locations and there are more than these. If you are interested in gathering more information on the places where it has a lot of Deaf and Hard of Hearing resides in then I recommend that you reach out to the Deaf community by getting a hold of National Association of the Deaf (NAD.ORG) or reach out to us on social media using a such hashtag like #Deaf or #DeafCommunity.

Nonetheless again I thank you Burger King for your tribute and for your public showcase in support for the Deaf community which it means a lot to us Deaf community. I hope that others follow this example that you shows your support for the Deaf community and I ask you to please take my suggestions into consideration such as doing a such like this that you did in Florida on the Deaf Awareness Month which is in September. For what you just did I think I will visit my local Burger King more often. 🙂

National ASL Day

The whole reason behind this is that today is in support of National American Sign Language (ASL) Day as on April 15th, 1817 the first school for Deaf and Hard of Hearing opened here in the United States of America. You can get more information about the National ASL (American Sign Language) day by visiting this link. American Sign Language is now identified as a language here in the United States which is belongs to the Deaf community as it is several Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals native language. Still the Burger King fast food chain restaurant shows their supports for the National American Sign Language Day is same thing as supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. This Burger King is located near the Gallaudet’s University in Washington, D.C.

Alexander Graham Bell Association For The Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Take that and stick it up your arse. American Sign Language is in decline? I beg differ. And I would not even be surprised if any one of you over at AG Bell who is in discussion of issuing another idiotic public response to degrade the Deaf community yet again with more lies being thrown in your another response.

Over To You

If you are one of these who were lucky to visit this Burger King, I envy you and if you have snapped some pictures or recorded some videos I would greatly appreciate if you would send them to my way by tagging JoshiesWorld on Facebook or Twitter. Also please leave a comment below and let me know how it goes at this Burger King! Wasn’t it Deaf friendly? By Deaf Friendly I meant when you order foods, weren’t there anyone who communicate with you using American Sign Language or at least universal sign language (gestures) or as I heard there were a few interpreters who takes your order for you? How did it exactly goes, I would love to hear them so please leave a comment below and thank you so much!
