11-4-2017 Snippets

Here I am back writing another article, I wasn’t even sure if I was going to write one or not because I am not really in the mood to write one but seeing that I have nothing else to do so I decided that I might as well make a new blog post and get done with it. I don’t even have the list of topics that I would like to talk about because it’s blank now, for a few weeks I didn’t think of anything interesting that I would like to write about, so I am pretty much swinging it as I type this article and hopefully this brain of mine comes up with a topic or so on its own for me to write about. You might as well say that I am blabbing here, because I am and let’s see how that turns out for the both of us!

11-4-2017 Snippets

Like I said above, I am swinging it here as I type so that mean that 50/50 chance that the topics may be interesting and may not be interesting since I am writing this article unprepared. I am usually prepared because often I would have at least a couple of topics on a note that I update on a weekly basis that I would like to write for my blog when I have the chance or when I am in the mood to do so. Now that being said, I will go ahead and begin here but remember that if there are some topics that you would like for me to share my opinion or thought on you can always send me some suggestion for topics that you would like for me to add the next one.

Winter Is Coming!

Ah, you noticed the reference from Game of Thrones but that isn’t what I mean here though. Last year we had a horrible winter, by horrible I mean that we really didn’t see much of a winter and that wasn’t good sight for some of us because not seeing any snow in the winter make no sense at all! It was very odd last winter because the winter before last winter, we had a snow blizzard or what people calls “Snowzilla” where we saw New York was literally under the snow and northeast were hit as well including here in Kentucky where I live. The snow kept coming for us, it was a refreshing thing to see as we didn’t have much of any snow for a couple of years or longer before two winters ago when we were hit by Snowzilla and now the Old Farmer’s Almanac is warning that they predict we would get a good one this winter coming. Old Farmer’s Almanac is a group founded in 1792 to publish their annual forecast predictions, Old Farmer’s Almanac statistically shown 80% accurate in their overall predictions since the beginning to this day and their winter 2017-2018 prediction has some good news for some areas.

Northeast will be Cold and Snowy; East will be Wintry Chill, Wet and White; Southeast will be Chilly and Wet. While in the Midwest will be Cold, Moderate Snowfall but not as harsh as usual and midsouth will be mild and soggy. Northwest will be Brisk, Drier than Normal while southwest will be Mild and Average Precipitation. Here is a picture of their predict for this 2017-2018 winter, this aims more of the beginning of 2018 such as January, February and March but you get the idea of what it may be since that Almanac pride themselves of being 80% accurate so we will see if they are accurate this year. I hope that they are, because we need some good snow but there is one thing that I fear and that’s wet. I am not sure if they mean wet as in wet snow or the wet refers rain.

Why Should We Celebrate Thanksgiving When It Is Wrong?

I know most of the families celebrate Thanksgiving Day, with countless items on the menu ranging from Turkey to Pies or Cakes and I have celebrated Thanksgiving every year with my mother’s side of family before 90% of them passing away. I treasure these memories more than anything, because now that most of my mother’s family side are no longer with us except only my mother and my uncle who we both no longer see since my grandmother’s passing – their mother. But all these years I wasn’t aware, I am sure that goes the same for some of you now until you find out about it here but what I wasn’t aware was that the first Thanksgiving was celebrated between Native Americans and the group of Pilgrims when they came over to the United States by a boat named Mayflower. I realized that the history teacher in my school didn’t teach any of us that when the group of Mayflower along with Pilgrim visited, they arrived during the winter, so they never endured the winter here in the United States before and the Native Americans decided to take care of these people by teaching them how to survive the harsh winter. Native Americans have taught them how to successfully plant foods, how to keep themselves warm during the winter and Native Americans protected these people from other tribes. Pilgrims have established a new valley at Plymouth when they learned how to plant, survive the brutal cold winter and whatnot – they captured the Native Americans then sell them as slaves. After doing so, they escaped and went back to where they came from. I have just only shared superficial history about how Thanksgiving Day born, if you want to learn more I highly recommend you read a couple of these articles below which I will provide the links and or I dare you to ask your History teacher about it – that is if you are in school to see if they would tell you this story or not.

Now, with that said so the question is should we celebrate Thanksgiving that honors a such thing like this? Especially after the kindness that Native Americans gave these strangers and in the end, they got robbed of their lands then being sold as slaves? In my opinion, we should still have the festival with the traditional foods that we have eaten every November but this time we honor these who truly deserves it which is none other than the Native Americans. I can understand that we traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving Day to share our thanks for our families and our friends which is fine but keep that in mind that these people such as Mayflower groups including Pilgrims did more than disrespecting the Native Americans.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins

I had pre-ordered the video game calls Assassin’s Creed: Origins for the computer a few weeks ago and it has been released a few days ago on October 27. When it was released, it was automatically downloaded to my computer as it was pre-ordered through Steam which is a service that I use to get and play video games. After it was downloaded, I didn’t play the game right away because I wasn’t in the mood to play any of the games that night but the next day I decided to give it a try and see how it is. Assassin’s Creed: Origins have hyped up a lot of gamers, it was heavily advertised everywhere on some cans, on internet, on some food boxes and whatnot. By doing that I think it increases our expectation that this game to be a very good game and that was one of thing that I was afraid of because it was hyping a lot of people. When it was advertised everywhere, it had me thinking about if it was a good idea for the company that developed Assassin’s Creed: Origins? As it was heavily advertised, it made me to have a higher expectation than I usually would for the older Assassins Creed and even it had me deciding to pre-order a several weeks before it was released so that should say it all. But anyway, when I started playing Assassin’s Creed: Origins, right away I noticed that the control configuration has drastically changed because they always used the same control configurations for all older Assassin’s Creed and it confused me right away. After playing the game, I am still confused with the controls and I noticed that the moves in controls have complicated a bit but after playing it for a while I started getting used to it, but I am still somewhat confused with the controls that they have assigned for the game. Assassin’s Creed: Origins is a theme of Egypt era, so that is what makes it interesting because the older Assassin’s Creed always goes with the theme of old British Era and as well old France Era so the Assassin’s Creed: Origins is a whole different Assassin’s Creed than they were before. I have only played a couple of hours so far, I must say I would give Assassin’s Creed: Origins grade B and only thing that stops me from giving it B+ or A is the control configurations.

Would I recommend Assassin’s Creed: Origins? Absolutely, but I must warn you that it is a whole different world than what you used to if you play a few or most of Assassin’s Creed games before.

Call of Duty: WWII

Assassin’s Creed: Origins wasn’t the only game that I have pre-ordered, I also pre-ordered Call of Duty: WWII and it was released yesterday on November 3. The new Call of Duty game is a theme of World War Two and when I saw the title for the Call of Duty I immediately thought that it was clever. Why clever? Call of Duty has a rival video game, that is Battlefield and Battlefield released a new game last year with a theme of – you guessed it, WWI or World War I. So, I can see that Call of Duty decided to develop the new one with the story of World War Two to rub in the faces of Battlefield developers and they did it right! I am a big fan of both games, Call of Duty and Battlefield as I buy both games for years. I still owns Battlefield, still plays it although I have finished the story from Battlefield which was somewhat a bit short and I was disappointed in that because I like games that has a long story which gives me longer to play. Final Fantasy VII (7) is the perfect example of the long game story, as it lasted several weeks instead of only a few hours with Battlefield and the title of newest Battlefield game that they released last year is called Battlefield I (one) which is fitting as it’s about World War One. Call of Duty’s new game, the WWII has a few more missions which means longer story gameplay for the gamers to play and it’s a bit more realistic than Battlefield 1 but again that is what Call of Duty is known for. I have played 3-4 hours into Call of Duty: WWII so far, it has kept me playing it instead of my mind saying “hurry!” like in some missions I did with Battlefield 1. I will give Call of Duty: WWII grade A and it deserves so. I highly recommend Call of Duty: WWII for gamers who likes playing a story of something that has happened in the past and who’s into shooting game. Of course, that won’t stop me from playing Battlefield 1 but Call of Duty: WWII puts Battlefield 1 to shame and now it’s your turn Battlefield developers to outdo Call of Duty!

Alexander Graham Bell Donors

Dear Donors and Contributors. Why in the heck are you funding Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing? I notice that there are a few of supporters who donated Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing deciding to donate funds to them again after hearing complaints from us Deaf community a few years ago. Honestly, you think that since this has been a few years that you think you could get away again and sneak to send some funds to Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing? I think not! What you are doing is supporting a such organization that oppress us Deaf and Hard of Hearing for several decades. Not only that, they are an organization who does everything in their power to make sure that the Deaf or Hard of Hearing newborns are deprived of their language with their well-known methods of scaring the parents of newborn Deaf child by lying and showing the evidences or statistics that has been debunked a long ago by well-known PhD professors. It’s shame that I notice a few of you decide to go back and donate to that organization after a few years after several of us educating you the true color of Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing along with their agendas which is oppresses us. If you think that they are doing the good thing then you thought wrong because they are not, and they take the pride in that. Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing along with Volta Beau and Listening and Spoken Language which has failed miserably – hurting us. So, I ask a few of foundations such as UPS and others – why did you fund them again after we sent our complaints a few years ago? Have you forgotten us suffer by them or what? Unless you approve that then I am saddening to hear that and with I know which not to do business with in future. We gave you a chance before, you righted the wrong that you did a few years ago by not contributing anything and now you go behind our backs after these years? Shame, really shame.

Here is the list of the latest report by Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (2015).

Over to You

I must call it a day, I haven’t been to bed since 11:30am yesterday as usual and it seems that I have said this many times in other articles where I would say that I have been up past 24 hours or close to it. But again, I usually am, anyway because almost every day I stay up for more than 24 hours or close to it and it is just the way I am. I really don’t like sleeping, I always thought that sleeping shouldn’t be a thing for the human beings, but it is and sometimes I imagine what if we have one piece of vampire’s DNA where we don’t need any sleep. If scientists ever come up with stem cell or something that would modify the human being’s DNA to where they would never need to sleep and that their body don’t ever get tired, pain or exhausted then I would be one of the first person in line to get it. Anyway, since there isn’t a such thing like that, yet I am going to get a couple of hours of sleep and the longest sleep I would have is usually 4 hours at the most. My brain is sputtering as I type this, I bid you all a good night or a good day whichever it is over there and remember if you have some topics that you would like for me to share my opinion or thought on – please submit your topics suggestion here! I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time reading this article and I hope all of you have a great day.
